KEF KC62 Uni-Core Force-Cancelling Compact Subwoofer, Carbon Black (1000W)

The sound from this small sub-woofer is amazing. Far better than my old very large one. It fits wonderfully into my small home cinema. It is expensive but worth it.

Very quick delivery. Replaced old broken B&W PV1 which I loved and it served me well for many years. I was concerned about what to replace it with. Did a straight replacement (without any real calibration yet), was blown away. Excellent piece of kit! Extremly good, smooth, deep base, amazing how a sub so small can acheive this quality. Can't wait to fully calibrate with speakers on my Denon X3800H, will be even better for sure!

Matches my LS50's perfectly. They are expensive, but it's tiny size makes it's performance seem unbelivable. Adds so much depth and ambience to the sound, and is never boomy or overbearing. So small and so good.

My original original review started with . . . . Works well with my LP12, Blu-ray and SADC player, Cyrus amp and Acoustic Energy tower speakers. . . . . but now the KC62 has totally changed my speaker setup and made the sound even better. It may sound unbelievable, but with the high pass frequency set near its highest value the KC62 would produce the whole bass range of the previously bi-wired AE towers as well as the intended subwoofer range, while disconnecting their bass halves would leave the AEs' mid/treble halves as effectively the upper end of bi-amped speakers. And it worked! The top end has improved massively in crispness just as bi-amping promises, while the whole bass range has a new beautiful relaxed, tonally rich quality. Plus, with all the positional clues coming from the improved higher frequencies, the sound picture may well be clearer now despite a single off-centre subwoofer providing so much of the frequency range. What a bonus!

Arrived with cone dented and I have to take the hugely heavy damn thing to a post office where there's no parking! There's no clear opening times, only closing times. Info displayed on Royal Mail website has different opening and closing times.

Great performance but with some issues. Terrible support. Returned.

Edit du 13/04/24: je mets 5 étoiles car il y a un paramètre sur (l'horrible) appli Kef Connect qui permet d'activer en permanence le caisson quand les enceintes Kef s'allume, mais ce n'est valable uniquement qu'avec des Kef connectés... Dommage pour ceux qui veulent le brancher sur un ampli. Commentaire d'origine : Connecté à mes LX2, ca donne tout simplement une autre dimension au son et ramène de la rondeur au LX2 qui ont un son plutôt plat (même en les réglant via l'appli). Vu la petite taille du caisson, on peut le poser sur le meuble TV, ce dernier ne vibre pas du tout malgré la puissance. J'ai un salon de 30m² et aucun problème, ca bombarde. 1000W ca chauffe, même à volume raisonnable, mais c'est acceptable. L'étoile en moins, c'est pour le même souci que certains décrivent : il faut "pousser" le volume sonore pour qu'il se réveille. C'est vraiment dommage qu'il faille l'utiliser à un volume soutenu, car quand on réduit le volume après, on ressent toujours l'apport du caisson, mais ce dernier se remet en veille au bout d'une minute (et le son redevient tout plat). Kef devrait augmenter la sensibilité (où donner la possibilité à l'utilisateur de le régler) pour la sortie de veille et ce caisson serait juste parfait !

Bu kez yine prime indirimlerinden 60 bin TL'ye aldım (ki şu anki piyasada avrupa fiyatına aldım diyebilirim. TR'de distribütör fiyatları maalesef ki uçuyor) Ürünle ilgili paylaşmak istediklerim ise özetle şu şekilde; * Müzik dinlerken müziği gerçekten hissetmek istiyorsanız dinleme zevkiniz subwooferlarla katlanıyor. Kef burada çok iyi iş çıkarmış. Çok dinamik, hızlı ve boyutundan yüksek bir etkiyle ciğerlerinizi müzikle dolduran bir sub çıkarmış ortaya * Sinemada da boyutuna göre oldukça iyi. Sinemada daha hesaplı ürünler var ki onları da kullandım, onlar da gayet başarılılar(SVS, Dali vs-hatta SVS boyut avantajıyla belki bir tık daha başarılı). Ancak şahsen kendi adıma salonumda kocaman siyah bir kutu görmekten oldukça rahatsızdım. Ayrı bir sinema odanız yoksa görsel açıdan hoş bir durum olmuyor. O nedenle küçük boyutlarda, kablosuz desteği olan bu sub 20-25m2 salonunuz varsa size sinemada da oldukça yetecektir. Kablosuz modülünü de alarak rahatça koltuk arkası, hatta ünite/dolap içerisine bile koyabileceğiniz gerçekten başarılı bir cihaz. * Hem sinema, hem müzikte başarılı çok az cihaz dinledim. Kef bu iki konuda da oldukça tatmin etti beni. Fiyatı da indirimli yakaladığınız müddetçe gayet makul. Malzeme kalitesi diğer bahsettiğim markaların çok üzerinde. Metal bir kasa içerisinde geliyor ve görsel olarak da oldukça başarılı. * Diğer markaların daha önce kullanmadığı bir teknoloji kullanıyor. Detaylarına internetten bakabilirsiniz. Futbol topu boyutunda bir kasaya bu denli bir güç koyabilmeleri gerçekten şaşırtıcı. Bir bakın derim. Eğer siz de nispeten küçük bir evde yaşıyor (~100m2) ancak hobilerinizden de vazgeçmek istemiyorsanız bu ürün sizin için tasarlanmış diyebilirim özetle. Kullandığım 6. subwooferdan sonra yine içim rahat bir şekilde KC62'ye dönüyorsam bir nedeni var :)

This was the first subwoofer I purchased, but I wouldn't consider buy another one instead. KF92 is tempting, but I wouldn't sacrifice the compactness of the kc62. This subwoofer is very good and I even prefer my ruark mr1 mk2 connected to this over my pair of ls 50 meta without it. The sensations it gives are fantastic and it's easy to setup quieter when you need to not bother your neighbours. Even If it cost a lot, I couldn't resist buy a 2nd one to see how enjoyable they can get. Didn't felt the need for a 2nd one actually, I'm still waiting for it and hoping I'll be able to spot a difference, because it is soo good right now I wouldn't be suprise if another one just add more coverage.
