This ladder mat does have quite the smell, so I would recommend keeping it in a basement or somewhere it won't get on your nerves. It isn't meant to be kept outside due to the stickiness of the back.

Felt very confident painting a cathedral ceiling with the Ladder anchored to the hard wood floors with the stop mat.Held ladder in place and hard wood floors remained perfect.

This works great on hardwood. It kept my ladder stable. But it smells like a tire store caught fire.

It's much bigger than it looks in the picture and makes my gorilla ladder very stable on concrete. It's quite nifty and you feel super safe!!

Pro: I felt much safer when working on the roof with this under my ladder. It does the job.Con: smells like tar, which is okay if it keeps your ladder from kicking out. I would recommend it for anyone who is worried about ladder safety, and we all should be.

This is supposed to be a rubber pad to place under your ladder so it won't slip while you are on it. When I opened the box I was assaulted with the chemical smell of an oil field. In fact, oil fields in THIS country are cleaner than this smell. It was wrapped in a plastic film. When I removed that the "rubber" was covered with a thick oily film. I left it outside for several days hoping the awful chemical smell would go away. No joy! I am returning it and searching for something made in America to hold my ladder. It is made in China. I would have preferred to give this product 5 NEGATIVE stars but 1 is as low as the scale goes.
