IF ITS TOO WARM OR SKIN IS SENSITIVE DO THE FOLLOWING
It’s unfair to give this product a poor review before understanding that it’s not a “bad product”. This is SUPPOSED to get really warm. If it’s causing skin sensitivity, it’s super easy to thwart that. If people do just a small amount of research they can avoid the discomfort. DSMO can work just fine as it comes for some & be too warm or cause skin sensitivity for others. The way to remedy that is to dilute the product SLIGHTLY with either distilled water or 100% Aloe Vera. DMSO is SUPPOSED to get warm upon contact of skin application & of any container it’s mixed in. It lasts only a few seconds. Diluting it the a bowl will warm slightly too. Just because your skin was sensitive to the warmth does not mean it’s a poor product - it’s just the makeup of it. If you’re concerned, purchase the 8oz glass bottle & dilute w/distilled water. Make a 70/30 or 60/40 mixture. The more it’s diluted the less heat but the less effective too. (You definitely want the higher percentage amount to be dmso). And yes, it MUST BE distilled water!! The reason is bcz it absorbs through the skin so quickly that it pulls anything it’s mixed with right into the skin with it & anything that’s already on the skin too. So clean the skin surface with peroxide 1st (not isopropyl alcohol). If you want you can use what’s inside this roll-on & that can be diluted too. For the sake of the people who found their skin too sensitive for this roll on, Im describing a way to use it without having to return or waste it. Simply turn the bottle upside down & squeeze some of the product (gel) into a small bowl, (I used a very small Tupperware container w/a lid) then add a couple tablespoons of distilled water, I capped it, shook to mix (& yes the container became slightly warm for a few seconds) & then I used it just like that. It worked just fine. I dipped a cotton ball in & rubbed it into my knee & lower back. It worked just fine. Any smell of garlic disappears once it’s completely dry. I poured the rest into a glass dropper bottle & stored to use later. Yes it can be premixed & used later. I hope this helps people bcz the poor reviews seem to be coming from those who haven’t looked into how versatile DSMO is.

DMSO at its best.
Deep muscle and joint relief. It doesn't stink like some DMSO products smell (thank goodness). I'll be buying it again for sure. Great stuff.

Use DMSO wisely
We’ve done our homework on DMSO and others should too. This is nearly 100% strength so on sensitive areas of the body it may sting and leave the skin red but temporarily unless you’re allergic. If DMSO is diluted for these areas it should be with distilled or reverse osmosis water to avoid transmitting impurities, never put it in TUPPERWARE, only glass, or use it over any body product or use any unnatural vehicle to apply it. Pure cotton, or natural fiber brush. It is very effective! The roll on is very convenient but hard to dilute. It goes on rather thick so go easy or it will take a while to dry. Apply to skin and do not touch your skin to anything but air until it’s dries in the air. Any low ratings are due to ignorance. The Midwestern Doctor on Substack has written tomes on this topic. It’s worth subscribing to it to use this product effectively and wisely.

Very potent DMSO
Do not use full strength. Burns skin if not diluted. Did not work for me.

After 10-days use - DMSO side effects began
Belated research is showing me that unless the DMSO is of prescription quality (that is, prescribed by a healthcare professional and acquired through a pharmacy), an off-the-shelf product may be industrial grade and unsafe to use. For about 10-days I was delighted with the roll-on version of DMSO as it eliminated pain in a problem knee that kept me awake nights. Unfortunately, I began to experience irritated red skin over the entire kneecap. Soon, this was accompanied by a light, but constant itching. It is likely that I am allergic to this product--but at the same time, this was purchased off-the-shelf, and I have no idea if it's industrial grade, and perhaps simply too strong. The label on the roll-on bottle says "Pharma Grade". But is it really? I have no way of really knowing as it didn't come from a pharmacy. Also--AND THIS IS IMPORTANT: Nowhere on the roll-on bottle were instructions for use, or number of times a day the product could be/should be safely used. Surprisingly, there was no instruction sheet either. In retrospect, I should have seen both the lack of use instructions on the label and lack of any kind of brochure as problematic. I didn't--and here we are. My suggestion: Do not buy this product off-the-shelf without first speaking to your doctor or other health professional.

Professional dancers experience with the DMSO
First of all I am a professional dancer so we always have some kind of pain and I've found....NOTHING......as great as DMSO...LOVE THE ROLL ON MORE THAN THE OTHERS TOO! My experience is that it does itch and a bit of burning but I can get through that......I've even put it on....up near my ear lobe and down the neck and actually would like to try it near the side of my nose on my face but haven't did that one yet! "NOTHING" works better for me with pain than DMSO....I put it pretty much almost everywhere!!!!!! As my one Russian Ballet teacher said to me one time.....If your a professional dancer....Ballet or other dance forms ect...ect and you wake up with no pain...."MEANS YOUR DEAD" LAUGH!!!!!!! No instructions
My husband and I purchased the non diluted roll-on and liquid DMSO for my knee and lower back pain from Amazon. There was only a card in the box in which it was sent containing thawing instructions and a picture of other products sold by the company with a QR code. I showered and dried off, making sure not to put on any lotions. I applied the roll-on DMSO to my knee first. There was a mild stinging, so, with a freshly washed hand, I massaged it in. The stinging subsided, and my knee pain started to diminish. I had my husband apply the roll on to my lower back. Within one minute of application, I felt an intense burning sensation. . The burning would seem to diminish, only to intensify shortly thereafter. After 10 minutes of this, I couldn't take the fluctuation and had my husband wipe it all off. I then placed a cold compress on my back to help remedy the intense burning I was experiencing. 5 hours later, my back was still tingling, but not burning, and had diminished to a tolerable level. The DMSO actually seemed to work as advertised. My original knee and back pains were gone, and I was left with tingling. My question is, why would the company sell a non diluted roll-on that can't be diluted before being applied without instructions on how to use it or a warning of possible issues? A warning should be posted on the Amazon website and should also come with the packaging( warning that possible burning may occur, the product may cause discomfort if used in sensitive areas of the body, do some type of test of the product, a small area of the body, etc). We were not aware at the time of purchase that the roll-ons are available in different dilutions and are mixed with other ingredients like aloe vera or lavendar. The QR code directed us to the website, which showed a variety of products with varying strengths, but they were not displayed as alternatives on the Amazon site.
