Buy this unit
I have tried other mini vortex mixers with higher speeds and they are hit or miss as to there effectiveness (i test with a bottle of water with the same volume as what I am mixing most of the time.) This unit gets the vortex every time with no issues no mater right side up or upside-down. The extra usb port is a bonus,

Updated Review
This is a 5 star mixer and their customer service is 5 star as well. When I got this the usb was not powering the mixer unless held just right. I was lazy and never returned it and just dealt with holding the power cord. Months later I wrote a review on amazon and their customer service reached out to me and offered a full refund. I did not ask for one. Any company who makes a fantastic product and stands by it has earned my business.

Works well -solidly built
I have not owned any of the other mixers (vortex type or otherwise) so can't comment on those. I do have one of the battery operated mixers with the long shaft and the mixer head on the bottom - that is messy and slow to use on dropper bottles - I had to grind it some to even get the mixer head to fit in the neck of the dropper bottles.I bought this to mix my collection of Vallejo, Army Painter, P3 and Citadel paints (mostly in 17ml dropper bottles)I bought this one becauseIt seems to be solidly built and "industrial grade" with good reviewsIts a little more expensive than some but looks more solid.First impressions (Got it yesterday)It is pretty hefty and does not wander all over the table while vibrating.Even though its heavy it is not very large so does not take up to much valuable table real estateIts pretty quietSo far mixed up maybe 10 dropper bottles worth of Vallejo air paints and some metallics. You can put the dropper bottle onto the machine top down and lightly press down and it starts right up (one finger on the base is enough to hold it - dont need (or want ) a lot of downward force) Can also put it bottom down also and put a finger on the top.(NOTE - there is an ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the unit - needs to be in the ON position for the unit to start up by pressing down on the head...........)I did 10 in a row (maybe 5 seconds x 3 on each bottle) - no real heat build up in the motor which is goodI have ordered some of the Arrmy Painter ball bearings to put in the dropper bottles (not here yet). The mixing looked good on the bottles I did - adding a ball bearing can only help.SO far I am favorably impressed - packaging was excellent and shipping speed up to Amazon Prime usual high standard. Will add some more to this review after some further use

If you are a tattooist , I am, you want this vortex mixer, avoid the cheapies, you want this one!!!
Using this Mini Vortex Mixer with Extra Interchangeable Silicone Cap, Touch Function, 5600rpm is an every day thing at my tattoo studio, not going to sit with my client watching/waiting while I agitate about 15 bottles of ink when we could be tattooing! Plus when pigments settle out, they "lock up" as in the liquid is above the unshakeable pigment below and no amount of shaking is going to mix them like this Vortex will!Went 2 rounds with another source on Amazon with a somewhat cheaper/lesser model, sent it back 2x and said "enough!" Stepped up my game and so glad I did. The machine works as intended, and for that I love it!An extra silicone cap is included, it runs on wall current, I drape the top so as to keep pigments off the original silicone cap as long as I can.I recommend this without hesitation as I feel it's beyond well worth your money, and it will ultimately save your hands and shoulders, as well as have your inks well mixed in the best possible way. Seems like a new "toy" to have but not a toy, an extremely useful and nicely made and great to use mixer! Buy this with no regrets, I did!

Started out great. Updated. Updated again.
Update: 2023/12/30Pulled it out after a month or so and the lights comes on but it does nothing else. Dropping it back down because at least previously it would kind of work and the seller was kind enough to give me a discount. It not working and I haven't even owned it a year is too much disappointment. I see lots of people using it online so maybe I got a dud.+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+Update: The seller reached out and we discussed the ways of resolving the issue. They were very quick and responsive with their emails and we ended up coming up with a solution. Very good customer service.*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*I got this a few months or so ago. It started out amazing, it really helped me with model painting. I was excited because of the wonderful things I'd heard about it but so I would not buy this again. My fifth time using it to shake up some paint and it no longer wants to stay on, I need push very hard and even then does not want to stay on. It was a dream to use but now it is a nightmare.

Be careful with the power supply
The product itself seems to work great. The only thing to be careful of is that the 12 volt power supply has a mini USB connection. So, if you were to mistakenly plug that into another device, you should expect to destroy that device as it would be expecting 5 volts. I immediately printed 12V labels and applied it to the wall-wart and cable.

tl;dr For miniature painting, you will wonder how you got along without it.
I paint miniatures as a hobby, but sometimes I will go a few weeks or even a couple months between painting sessions, which means the paint pots settle and separate. I saw other hobbyists using these mixers on YouTube and decided to give it a go. It's amazing. It does a great job mixing both Citadel pots and Vallejo dropper bottles, but you should really put an agitation ball in there if you really want it to work well. You can find 5.5 or 6mm steel balls right here on Amazon (200 of them from Breezliy cost me $7). The mixer also does well resuscitating older paints if you add a little thinner medium (such as Vallejo VAL73524) in with the agitator balls and let the mixer do its work, mixing for a minute at a time, and repeating until you reach desired results. So far it has given me six months of pretty heavy use and is still in great shape. Highly recommended.
