Can this be used on brass?

I have only used it on sterling silver findings for jewelry. I think it may pit brass.

Does this work on satin nickel?

Liver of Sulphur does not work well on nickel. It does best on copper.

How much solution will this bottle make when mixed with water?

That little bottle will make quite allot of liver of sulphur. It depends on the size of the copper work you intend to treat. I could mix up 2 cups of water with about two tablespoons of the bottle and have enough for two classrooms of copper pieces.

Will this turn sterling silver black like gunmetal effect?

It will turn it very dark, but not like a gunmetal bluish color. More of a dark bronze. The results may vary depending on what type of silver it is and whether it's solid or plated. I used it on some silver tableware of unknown composition and it turned very dark, but not black.
