Absolutely amazing
Used when our boy turned 1 and then with our 8 month baby (who has been so clingy and taken to co sleeping with us so I never thought it would work with). Both times it has been an absolute life saver. Anyone with a baby / toddler who isn't sleeping needs this book!

4 month old now sleeps 6-8 stretches!
The "Ferber Method" sometimes gets a bad reputation, but once I read this book myself within the first few pages Dr. Ferber addresses the misconceptions and immediately earned my trust. This book will be handy to have through several sleep regressions in the future, but for right now it's already helped our 4.5 month old drop the pacifier and sleep 5-8 hour stretches every night! If you don't like hearing your baby cry for even a second, this might not be for you, but I would recommend looking into it if you want to help your baby get better sleep at night!

Great insight
My wife and I enjoyed the book and found it very informative and insightful. We sleep trained our baby based on the chapter in the book about it and on the third night this put an end of the numerous crying wake-ups. Now our son falls asleep on his own with little protest, falls asleep after waking up at night without crying and we don't even get alerted. He wakes up in the morning and is happier.Very happy with the results, would recommend.

Useless book
Terrible... very superficial book. It’s provides information already known and any solution,

Essential for new parents
I read about 7 sleep training books and I can say for sure that this book and Dr Weissbluth’s book are the only sane ones in the lot. Every other book is just another version or rephrased version of these two books. This book IS the book to get your baby to sleep and be a good sleeper. It’s not a no-cry solution, but a solution that works. Sleep is extremely important for development of a baby’s brain and somehow we Indians don’t even think much about it. I’d say, this book is an essential to every parent expecting a child and it’s OK to let your child cry for a while if it’s going to help them learn how to self soothe.
