The Irish Man Review: I can accept this
*Disclaimer* I believe 5 stars means perfection and 1 star means fully flawed so both of those star scores are very difficult to obtain. If you want to skip the descriptions scroll to the bottom for a quick TL;DR!Quality of Box/Presentation:The product arrived in a box fully intact with no sign of damage. Within the box was a bag with the bases inside. No outer flaws seemed to be present but I do not particullary enjoy having my product loosely rolling around in a plastic bag so this category earns 4/5Quality of Product:This is where the beef of the description will take place. The general quality of the product is good with the base being a think, quality plastic that doesn't flex at all. With a smooth top and a smooth base it helps you create a smooth consistent base scenery for your miniatures. The lose of quality comes from the rims.Looking at the first image without a mini on it - You can see if you zoom in that the edges are disproportionate and waved. This is probably because they used a non-industrialized laser cutter so very clear imperfections in the cutting shows. This is a huge turn-off for most so be aware.Looking at the second image with a mini on it - Notice if you zoom in on the edges of the base that even after having 3 coats applied the waves in the sides of the base still show so note that that the waves have enough texture to them to be seen even through the paint. I'll wrap this category up at a 3 star rating.Quality of Performance:General performance of the base met all standards. To be fair, its a plastic circle for another plastic object to stand up on so little went into evaluating performance. 5 stars.TL;DRLikes: Quality of plastic used & PriceDislikes - ridged cuts and uneven texture on the base edges that very fairly visibleFinal Score - 4.0

Good bases
Good bases but they're really shiny and smooth. You'll need to rough then up a bit to make sure they stick.

Just fine for "table ready" minis
I debated 4 or 5 stars, and it was the rough edges which ultimately made it 4. These aren't bad by any means, they're just really shiny, super smooth on the top, and yet also rough on the sides. Most other bases I've come across have lightly textures tops which make basing a little easier, be it priming/painting or otherwise. I feel like if you aren't basing your minis, then the glossy top will be an issue, but since I've started painting, texturing, and flocking my bases, the gloss wasn't a problem. However, the sides of these are not polished; you can see vertical lines. This isn't a deal breaker if, like me, you're just using these bases for "table ready" minis. TBH, I would expect anyone painting up quality minis to also pick up more expensive bases.

Could use more attention to detail.
I'm disappointed in quality here. Most figures come with pretty basic plastic disks, they are injection molded and quite ugly. So any stand that's a little nicer is worth a look, but I'm disappointed that this product doesn't take things much further. What we have here is a 1" diameter laser cut acrylic disk. You can tell it was laser cut, because of the telltale striations along the edge. For an item like this, I would have expected they at least sand the edges, but they don't, leaving a rough jagged look.Ita not hard to make little black disks of plastic, and it's not hard to make them look really nice. So when I buy thr product as a product, rather than making them myself, or just buying something marketed as raw materials - I expect more attention to detail.

Rough Around the Edges
I purchased these for displaying tiny 1:100 and 1:72 astronaut figures next to some spaceship models. I had previously bought the same item in 4” size and it worked great for what I needed, but I had noted that the edges were not smoothly round, but cut in segments. On that larger size it looked okay, but on these tiny 1” bases the segmented cuts are proportionally larger and more conspicuous. Most people won’t notice unless they look closely, but if you’ve spent a week painting that tiny wargaming figure you might look for a better base to suitably show it off. Also, while one surface of these disks was super smooth and (mostly) scratch-free, the other side had a patchy iridescent sheen on it that would not wipe off. If you’ll be displaying these in such a manner that both sides are visible (like on a glass shelf), I have to recommend that you look elsewhere. My astronauts are okay with their new home, but these could have been better.

Good value and functional.
These bases are great for miniatures. They are a little thicker than the average base you would get with a miniature, but they work just as well. These bases are worth the price!
