Yeast Nutrient gives nourishment to your yeast so that it stays healthy throughout the fermentation process. Used in beer, wine, mead, etc. to produce healthy yeast for a complete fermentation. Use 1 teaspoon per gallon prior to fermentation beginning. Review: Finally - I am not going to talk about fermax simply because as a product it works with what I do. I am sure that there are other yeast nutrients that are just as good but when I developed my brew I used fermax and it has worked wonderfully for me. I know it sounds weird but I am giving this purchase 5 stars for the vendor actually sending what they said they would. I have bought from 2 other vendors and they sent LD Carlson yeast nutrient instead of fermax. I am sure LD Carlson is a fine yeast nutrient but it is not what I needed nor ordered. Finally
I am not going to talk about fermax simply because as a product it works with what I do. I am sure that there are other yeast nutrients that are just as good but when I developed my brew I used fermax and it has worked wonderfully for me. Value with Quality does work
Ive used this product before, only in 1lbs containers or packages. I decided to get this in a 5lb package and I'm glad I did, I've now stored it in 5 airtight packages to keep freshness.

Fermentations take right off when used!
I get great primary fermentations when I use this yeast nutrient, usually finishing within a week and no off flavors like I get when no nutrient is used. When I make cider, I don't pasteurize the juice and do minimal sanitation (which will not work on beer). Instead I rely on a vigorous primary fermentation that is established right away using a strong yeast culture and a healthy helping of this yeast nutrient. The ciders I'm getting are comparable to the best dry ciders out there.
