Dermacol Make-Up Cover Foundation 30g (218)

I have a “cafe au lait” macule— basically a large brown birthmark— that I have used many different products on to try and cover it. This is honestly the best product I have ever used. I have tried many different brands including dermablend and other heavy duty concealers. This is the first foundation that I have found that so closely matches my skin color that I do not have to blend it with any other colors for a natural appearance. Also, its application is so quick it saves me a significant amount of time as compared to any other heavy duty concealer I have tried. ***I only use this product to cover my birthmark. I don’t apply foundation to my face, so this review applies to those who need “spot” coverage The key to using this product is as follows: 1) you must use a make up sponge. It does not work well with the silicone sponges. It does not work well if you use your fingers. 2) apply in layers if you have a darker area to cover. I apply a very light layer and blend it around my regular skin, wait a few seconds for it to dry, and then apply a little more directly on my birthmark. You do NOT need a lot of this product. It is highly concentrated. 3) you MUST “set it” with a setting powder (dermacol has one and it works just as well as the dermablend brand). If you do not “set” this foundation, it will crease and wipe off, leaving it appearing smudgy I hope this review helps others who have searched for full coverage foundation for hard to cover birthmarks.

I've always loved the look of full coverage foundation because it makes me feel really dressed up. This foundation, when applied correctly, will cover absolutely anything! It takes a little practice because it goes such a long way. I apply a fairly thin base coat with my fingers, to start, then go back and double up wherever needed. After it is all blended the way I want, I finish with a brush of powder to set and then use a fine layer of tanning powder. It sounds like a lot, but it's a beautiful finish. It took me a while to find my right shade in this foundation because I have light golden undertones and most of the shades in this product tend to go reddish or pink. I'm an older lady and tried hundreds of expensive foundations, but to date, this is the best, and most economic and lasts a very long time. Give it a try and have some patience and you might love it like I do!

great coverage, but it's greasy

So so so so disapointed!!!! Once I used the cap to break through the foil top, gobs of product went everywhere! AND it was white!!!! It had a pale lemon yellow color to it, to be honest! I ordered 220 and spent hours looking at colors. I'm probably a medium/light. It didn't have much coverage since I put that handful that came flying out on my face and it's snow white with a little dog per color (don't eat the yellow snow!" AND it stinks!!! It's been pushed into my skin with a beauty blender for about 10 mins and it still stinks!! I don't want my danged foundation to determine how i will smell for the day! I can't wait to finish this review to wash the stinch off!!!! I've read that the real stuff has almost no smell and that 220 is supposed to be medium to dark! I left this on for about 10 mins and got a super bad headache. I get them with strong, chemical fragrances. I'm almost positive this is an imposter. I've asked for a refund. If you're old enough, you may remember the smell of very old Avon makeup. Especially the samples your grandma had for a few years...thats exactly what the smell took me to instantly! Smells can invoke strong memories! I'm about to go back and rewash my face! I've used my cleanser and moisturizer and can still smell it too strongly!! Ugh! I can't get this sent back soon enough!!!!!

The coverage of this product is amazing! However the shade (#218) was a bit lighter even though it was the right undertone.To give an idea, I'm in the shade Light-Medium of the Covergirl BB Cream Matte. The foundation looks fairly nice as soon as you apply it but be warned...as the rest of the day goes and you go about your day, this breaks down really oddly. It gets very textured as you wear it longer. I think this is a great foundation but I don't think it's very long wearing.

For the coverage and pigmentation and the price this is probably one of the best foundation/concealers I have ever used. I got the color 218 and it is a perfect match for my skin tone which is light with a yellow undertone. It looks darker from the picture but is rather light in real life. I usually wear Too Faced Born This Way in Vanilla, Milani in #1 Creamy Vanilla, Kat von D in 52, and Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer in SX06 and 08 (mixed) for reference on how the color compares. I like to lightly bake with powder under the eyes and around the mouth and nose and at the end I just use Urban Decay's All Nighter to set and my makeup looks good for the rest of the day.

i’ve bought this before and liked it alot. something is different about it now too thick almost clay like. too expensive to sit in a drawer.

I'm heavily tattooes, as in my whole chest and arms, this foundation is 100% coverage and it doesn't feel like I have a cast on my skin. Would definitely recommend since for my face all I need is a drop and it covers beautifully. *A little bit of foundation goes a LONG WAY, so you've been warned lol* Seller was also very efficient and prompt with delivery.

Super full coverage and thick, I mixed in with my Mac studio fix fluid in shade nc38. The demacol shade 218 in reference to the nc38 is slightly lighter and more neutral toned. It creates a perfect full coverage look. Although is very oily, easily resolved with powder and stays put with powder also.

Awesome! I bought shade 218 as im a fair skinned brown woman with yellow undertones and rhis matched! Covers everything! Oh and its Authentic not fake 😎💥

Llevo usándolo dos años..no lo cambio por ningún otro...la piel perfecta es económico y me dura el tubo mínimo 4 meses maquillándose todos los días...no se puede pedir más...estoy super contenta...

Maquillage parfait mais il faut en appliquer très peu. Je mets une goutte de la taille d'un petit pois sur mon éponge à maquillage et je l'étale bien uniformément. les couleurs sont bien plus claires qu'on ne le pense, entre 1 et 2 tons en dessous de ce qu'on peut croire. J'ai acheté une teinte supérieure et je les mélange pour un résultat parfait. Tout le monde me dit que j'ai une super peau :) Je ne changerai plus de marque.
