Excellent entertainment center! Great for emulation!
I did my research before buying, and found this particularly one, was the best technically speaking and most suitable for my needs. It has a better AmLogic S812 CPU, and not the weaker S905 vendors are placing now inside these boxes. 2 GB of RAM instead of 1 and 16GB of internal storage, instead 8GB, as most M8, MXq, etc are equipped with. It also seems to have a better than regular wi-fi adapter (though I have noticed the signal is not the best from where the device is installed, and some high quality streaming has suffered a bit of buffering or stops), but I prefer to use the Lan port anyway. After I finished installing the apps I needed, there's still like 11GB free in the internal storage. Its system version is Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat. Not the newest, but the system behaves really stable and responsive, very quick, love its performance. Upgrading to a higher Android version is not possible with the included tools (no results are shown when you search for updates). Some of you, would maybe like to tinker with it, installing a different rom from XDA-developers, etc. but I personally like it working perfectly as it is.It comes preinstalled with KODI 16 (with most relevant plugins), a live TV app and even Netflix, together with the posibility to surf the internet as in any PC, and watch your Youtube subscriptions. I even tested with online movies sites and it handles them, altough, in a few sites, you may need to install a browser which supports flash player (like Puffin browser, downloadable at the app store).By the way, Google Play Store and Aptoide app stores, come preinstalled, which is a great plus. All that said, I must admit the main reason I bought this device is not to watch movies and live TV. Yes, the included related apps all come in handy, but the main reason attracted me to this tiny box, was to use it as an emulation based console, "a la" Ouya or Raspberry Pi. And let me tell you that for the price the thing turns out to be amazing. It even handles demanding systems like Dreamcast (emulator still in early stage), N64 and PSX. Not to mention 16 and 8 bit systems, these all working flawlesly. Install Gamesome frontend and you'll have every system nice and tidy, available right from the main screen.I first was dissapointed that my wired Xbox360 controller was not recognized by any emulator, nor another generic USB I had lying around. I even tried a WiiMote without success (the app needed is not compatible with Kit Kat). Then I decided to go bluetooth. I ordeder from Amazon a Moga Hero Power control pad, and now I could not be more pleased with the experience. All in all, if aided with the right peripherials (like a bluetooth mouse-keyboard combo), I would call this a PC...an Android based PC, capable of doing the basic processing most people would need from a PC .I took the proper time for testing properly before writing this review, and I cannot find a noticeable weak point about this product. In my opinion, there should be one of these at each home. Very recommendable!

I have a mini wireless keyboard that works great with this unit
This is my second android box and I am learning as I go. First I would tell anyone who is getting one of these box for the first time to connect your box to the internet, sign into the Play Store, and then go to Netflix and log in. Once you try logging into Netflix you will be asked to update Netflix, agree then you will be asked how you want to update, through the Play Store or through a third party site. I first choose the Play Store but found by trying to update this way I got a message saying my device was incompatible and could not be updated. My Netflix did not work as well and I decided to do a factory restore to my box. This time when asked to update Netflix I choose the third part site, I found this allowed an update to Netflix and also improved my Netflix playback experience. The only issue I have with the M8S is that it seem the included remote will take you to the Netflix site and to what you want to watch, but will not allow you to play that movie. I have a mini wireless keyboard that works great with this unit. I use the included remote for on/off and some navigation but when needed I will just use my wireless keyboard for all other functions.

It is NOT ready out of the box
Item description states: Come with fully loaded KODI and Ready to go out of the box with all the Add-ons. It does not come fully loaded ready to go out of the box. It's been a pain trying to figure out how to load it since the product instructions are not very clear. Add to that the fact that I just spent more than an hour with Amazon customer service because they want to charge the return shipping and the result is that I'm very frustrated with this product and Amazaon.

Pretty happy with this purchase
Pretty awesome device. 1st time buying an Android box but for sure I knew it was better to get a 2gig of ram version.Netflix works perfectly with this device. Hulu not so much, it was working for a while but now it just shows an error. Not really a big deal because I use Kodi, moviebox, cartoon HD and etc to watch shows. Apk files do work on this.Ive downloaded games just to see how well they work but can't really get some to work because most are meant for phones where you have a screen to touch. But I'm sure if I bought a Bluetooth controller that should work fine.Overall I am happy with this device.

Please Don't Buy!!!
Kodi App on the unit works great out of the box. Unit reboots over and over ... Sometimes Everytime I open Kodi. Attempted removing Kodi and reinstalling ... Attempted factory reset ... Nothing alleviates the issue. I would not recommend this item. Not worth the hassle.

Lies and False Advertisement. OS is 4.4 KitKat, not 5.1 Lollipop
Do not be deceived like I was. Item description clearly says "Android 5.1", however, OS is actually 4.4. This is extremely important for Kodi users as v17 Krypton will not support 4.4 KitKat as it is an obsolete system. I have returned both boxes I ordered.
