So far so good!
Originally brought a previous docking station with a different brand, perhaps a little cheaper and it came with a European power outlet, not UK.I’m a music university student with composition assignments due. With my new 2019 MacBook pro having no USB outlets for all my equipment, I really needed this docking station to provide that USB C connection and substantial power for it all. And it met my needs perfectly.Arrived quickly, in perfect condition. Looks like it’s well made, lightweight although the power bank is the same size and is probably heavier (that doesn’t bother me though because it’s expected being a powered docking station..).Came with power adapters which was a really nice touch and well typical in my case considering the mistake I was faced with the previous company! It can charge my 16” inch MacBook, as well as provide charge for my iPhone simultaneously. I haven’t used lots of the outlets at once yet, so I can’t comment on performance in that area. The station itself did get a little warm, but mind this is after being on and used for 12 hours +.My only downside is that it would have been more stylish and visually appeasing to have the ‘Plugable’ writing smaller on the top. Or in a darker colour, or just have it written in one place and that’s it. It’s the brand tho I suppose!Regardless, this is a high performing docking station.I did a lot of research on other models and saw a multitude of comments complaining in some shape or form. This is worth the investment as a long-term solution.Hopefully this review can help save anyone reading this lots of time from all the hassle!

Works well with Macbook Pro and Lenovo Yoga Slim 7
Easy to set up and works well, although it gets quite hot with extended use. It's a good idea to make sure nothing's on top of it. Looks good and goes well with the Macbook pro. Doesn't have a power button like some other docks, which is a shame. Also seems to produce a quiet high pitched whine once it gets warm.Works flawlessly with a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7. The Yoga also has its power button on the side so you don't need to open the lid to power it on.Works quite well with Macbook Pro 16" (which I have to use for work). Occasionally the second monitor (HDMI) seems to have a fit and goes green and purple bands. Opening and closing the Macbook lid usually fixes this. Haven't seen this with any other systems so this seems to be just the Macbook. Sound works over HDMI but strangely the volume is greyed out in the MacOs settings, so there's no way to change the volume from 100%. Since there's no power button on the dock the Macbook's lid needs to be opened to power it on, or alternatively disconnecting and reconnecting the USB-C cable also causes it to power on.Lenovo Thinkpad T480 - video, network and charging work OK, but USB ports don't work at all. I have been unable to get any keyboards, mice or other USB peripherals working on the Thinkpad via this dock. If the dock is plugged in after Windows 10 has booted it shows a notification that some USB devices may not function correctly. This same Thinkpad works fine with a Thinkpad dock, and the peripherals in question also work when connected directly to the laptop, so this seems to be down to an incompatibility between Thinkpads and the Plugable dock.

Pricey but worth it for the build quality.
While I’ve been asked (by Amazon!) to mention ’thickness’ and ‘sheerness’ (what?!? XD), I have no understanding of what relevance those words have to a product review.I bought this to replace two previous ’power through’ docks, one of which trashed my MacBook’s logic board. This dock is based on the Apple-compliant Titan Ridge chipset, meaning no need to sweat over whether the power delivery to your Mac is simultaneously frying it.The unit is small and neat considering the connectivity options and is Space Grey, so blends in nicely with existing equipment. The power unit is pretty hefty and, like most, not a thing of beauty so is best hidden away. There’s a ThunderBolt 3 cable included in the box but it’s fairly short.I’ve had mine a few weeks and have noticed only one issue: I managed to overload the power draw from the front right USB-A type socket and this seemed to reset the power to all attached peripherals. This wasn’t good as I have pretty much every socket occupied on the unit. However, that’s as much my fault for not understanding the power draw of the peripheral that caused the problem. It’s a pricey unit but it’s solidly built, replaces my Apple charger for my MacBook Pro and looks pretty good in the middle of the rest of my desk. Recommended.

Charges a Dell XPS-17
I wanted a thunderbolt 3 Hub for my Dell XPS-17 but that needed more than 85W to charge. This Plugable Thunderbolt Dock is rated at 96W and works perfectly. Its lack of an SD Card slot is not a problem for me as the XPS-17 has one built-in. The unit just gets warm not hot. Everything I have plugged in has just worked: Presonus Studio 24c audio interface, USB speakers, Hard drives, Ethernet and 4K Monitor. A great product.

Works no fuss
I was looking for something to clean up the multitude of adaptors I'd collected around my MacBook Pro.This works well, now I have a single cable to the Mac and all the connectivity I needed to external devices including a second monitor.

Very reliable so far
Unlike a few others I have tried, this docking station actually charges my macbook pro 16inch adequately when being used intensively, which seems to relieve the pressure on the laptop. It does get a bit warm, but that hasn't affected the performance. It would be great if there 1 or 2 more HDMI port for extending the screens.

Great thunderbolt hub
Slightly expensive, but was exactly what I was looking for. I have 2 4k monitors and use the HDMI socket in one and convert using the supplied displayport dingle to HDMI for the other, charges my HP laptop and all peripherals work connected to the hub too, happy bunny!!
