Can't believe it works so great on my new Canon 6D Mark II, No brainer compared to Canon lenses L Series.

I love this lens for landscape and astrophotography. At 14mm and f/2.4, I can keep the shutter open for 20—even 25—seconds without any noticeable star streaking. The aspherical element is a big plus too—no more weird bulbous lines when shooting straight on. I use it with my Canon R6 II. Great for light painting. Highly recommended.

I bought this lens mainly for my Canon EOR R mirrorless camera. Prior to this, I had a manual focus Samyang 14mm lens that I loved. Samyang, the Korean company known for their low cost but high-quality manual focus lens has started making AF lens in 2016. The Samyang AF 14mm f2.8 for Canon EF mount is different from their version for Canon RF mount. The more recent (Dec 2018) version for the RF mount is optically identical to the 2016 version for Sony mirrorless FE mount. This version for Canon EF mount is actually a newer design, which is also available in Nikon F mount. The lens is well built and feels dense. Its bulbous front element precludes use of screw-in filter. It comes with a deep lens cap that stays on tight by friction. The metal rear mount has a gasket for weather sealing. I used a Canon EF-RF adaptor to put it on my EOS R. AF is fast enough, perhaps a tad slower than Canon L lens. Unlike Canon L lens, its motor is not silence. With my camera at eye level, I can definitely hear it. But it not as distracting as the mechanical shutter. It may be a different story when recording video with the built-in mic. Like all ultra-wide angle lens, its optical quality cannot match prime lens with less extreme focal lengths. Nevertheless, it surpasses its legendary manual focus brother, especially at the corners. I will update this review after taking it on a trip.

Great quality lens but not compatible with my camera. Sadly had to return.
