Q: Does this mailbox come in hunter green? If not were you able to paint the box after you received the box? Do you need to use any specific paint?

Q: What type of post does this fit on? Does it fit on a round or square post? How do you connect the box to the post?

I bought an approx. 1" x 8" scrap piece of board that I picked up at Menard's for less than $1 and cut to fit the underneath side of the mail box with a jig saw, then marked the board where the screws would go in, and drilled pilot holes where these were marked. Then, I screwed this homemade platform on to the existing 6 x 6 square wooden post, placed mailbox onto the platform and lined up the mail box holes with the pilot holes and drilled in the screws. I'm sorry I cannot remember the exact dimensions of the underneath side of the mailbox, else would have included them. I'm not sure what you would do if you have a steel round post. You would some way of attaching the platform.

Q: Can you install your own mailbox lock on this box?

you could I suppose, but you may be better off buying a lockable mailbox instead

Q: Just set up my mailbox and realized that it doesn't have any kind of clip to hold the flag on? Help!

your mail box should have come with attachments that are designed to hold the flag in place, if none are present, then you should return the item for one that does. there are pieces for this included in the box.
