Good resource but not a teacher's edition
A great resource if you teach AP Lang. However, you're better off getting your school to place a purchase order with the publisher because the answer keys/explanations are not available through purchasing it here as a single book. I wish I realized that sooner. Also be advised that a class set will be required for purchase in order to get the teacher edition. You won't be able to purchase it on its own.

Disappointing start...gets better but not worth it
Upon opening the book, the first speech, deemed "professional text" is by Greta Thunberg. This speech is the one that has been made into a meme and is, quite frankly, very poorly written. The book gets gradually better with the texts and speeches but trying to sell this speech as "professional" is laughable. Her speech is in the canon with Lincoln, Churchill, Douglass and MLK, Jr. Not even close. In researching textbooks for AP Lang, the course I took and the texts are overwhelmingly liberal, as are most educational texts. They aren't even trying to be balanced which undermines the teaching of argument. Mostly, I have found my students can argue that these articles and speeches are slanted and are able to point out the bias. I guess this will prepare them for college if they dare engage in a more conservative debate!

Wrong version
This version wasn't supposed to be released per my daughter's AP teacher. It has things in the wrong place on the page or on the wrong page. Basically it's a misprint version. I can't return it now because it was written in and highlighted before figuring it out.

Excellent content, subpar spiral
My bad for not realizing that there would not be a bit of extra margin added for the spiral edge. I already own the paperback (excellent content), but hoped for a book with wider pages for margin notes. I paid nearly $25 extra for less margin space.

it's a bad textbook and the author should be ashamed of themselves
Used bad examples of retoric and has deep political biases that have no place in education. The questions are often subjective, yet only one answer is correct, and in general it's just not good. It follows old philosophies religiously, presenting them as fact and enlightened ideology despite their apparent flaws and deep logical fallacies. Don't buy it, and if you can avoid AP do it. College board doesn't care about you, they care about your money, this sad excuse of a textbook is proof of that
