Great torch with adjustable flame and plenty of heat to melt my sugar topping on a Creme brûlée. uys please note, it arrives completely empty of gas so you will need to buy a canister if you don't have any in the house.

Great quality blow torch, mostly metal and works well. The only negative, and it is a small one, on the very lowest setting it doesn't stay alight. I can see people have been having issues filling up the gas, probably because they're using gas with just one nozzle, I would recommend getting 'Newport Gas', their lids have adapters to fit anything so use the one that fits best with the torch, I haven't had an issue with filling it thanks to this. I think some people use clipper etc which are cheap and fine for most tasks but if cooking I found that clipper can leave a bit of a taste but Newport gas doesn't. The trigger lock that comes with it is useful too for keeping it safe around smaller kids (obviously it should be out of reach anyway). I can't comment on the temperatures it reaches because I don't have anything to tell me what temp it is, but it does crème brulees well and also melts cheese! (I got this mainly for cooking).

I bought this because I needed a torch with a small, focused flame for soft soldering (around 220 °C ) small brass parts. It works really well. I have also used it for silver soldering (around 700 °C) 16 swg silver wire - again it worked fine. The spark ignition works well except at the lowest flame settings, and the flame is stable - I haven't had any problems with flaring even when the flame is directed vertically up or down. I have had no problems with the 'continuous flame' button which works as expected. I've docked a star because I, like some other reviewers, had problems with filling. Using standard Clipper brand lighter refill canister the liquid gas sprayed everywhere - wasteful of gas and potentially hazardous. I got round this by enlarging the internal diameter of the canister nozzle with a 2.3 mm twist dill to a depth of about 3mm so it slips over the filling tube on the torch. Filling now goes perfectly, but making this sort of mod shouldn't be necessary - it may be a deal breaker for some.

Just go for it it’s a great little torch.

Good when it it's full, easy to use and safe. BUT filling it is a nightmare. You end up with loads of fuel all over the place. If anyone has any tips on filling please let me know.

Very clear instructions, advice on how to refill it, extra nozzles for your refill can ( not included) just incase you happen to have purchased a type without a long nozzle. - didn’t know there were different types. It’s very smart looking a cheery yellow colour, and a flame size adjustment slider. Best of all and the first time I have ever seen- a little window at the back so you can see how much gas you have in it. To fill it , turn it upside down, fill in bursts of a few seconds then leave to stand for about 10 minutes to allow gas to stabilise before using. The main body of it fits nicely in the palm of my hand , and the trigger button easily operated by index finger. For safety it came with a cover for the trigger so it cannot be de pressed but I think that was for only during transit as I slid it off and have no idea where it is now- probably fell on the floor or back in the box I tend to use these to burn off address labels before I throw out the packaging, but I also took it outside to set fire to an accumulation of old private paperwork, invoices and bank statements. It was very effective. A crème brûlée would be no effort at all. Very good value for money, I think it was about £15. If it lasts anywhere as long as my previous one or longer I will be a very happy bunny.

I love the whole black and yellow theme, it's a gem and if you treat it with respect, it will last a long while. It's a mini bumblebee torch Lol
