Enlightening and thought provoking
This is a completely different point of view from many of the books about UPF at the moment. This is written by a man who worked at BIG FOODs and really knows the tricks of the trade to get us all buying: it's a brilliant insight in to how our own behaviours are used against us. Is it any wonder we are in an obesity crisis with T2D levels rising to levels never imagined? I am a nutritionist and my background is in investments so I fully appreciate how the Big Food companies just want returns, with no regard for the damaging products they peddle. However, this book really delves in deep and I have walked away with an increased drive to not fall prey to the marketing. I highly recommend that everyone reads this.

Eye Opener.
Coming from an ex-employee of the food industry, this writer knows his stuff. I only wish this book becomes a best seller. We are up against such a huge industry when it comes to shopping for food.My personal experience previews that shopping for “real clean” food does not need to be expensive.Consider the amount you save by leaving out the junk foods, especially snacks, then you certainly can afford it. Look at it from the point of seeing your money spent of real food as an investment.I have the condition known as Fibromyalgia, but because I eat clean 90% of the time, I don’t have the extreme amounts of pain that can be experienced with this condition. I get reminded of it from time to time, but overall I reckon my body is in very good nick for a 76 year old, and am convinced that it is because I avoid junk foods.Having spent many years of researching and even writing my own books on the subject, I am coming from a good perspective of how difficult Supermarket shopping can be. But it is possible, and one good tip is avoid the centre isles!

Thought provoking
This book should be mandatory reading within schools. We need to educate people in what food they are consuming and the effect it has on their bodies. This book covers the basics of what to look out for when supermarket shopping. The author’s trolley guide is very clear and concise. The author also recommends further reading if the reader wants to obtain additional information on food and dieting. I would recommend this book as a good starting point for people who are interested in the cause and effect of their own food consumption.

Very thought provoking read
I have read lots of books by doctors and experts on nutrition, so it was fascinating to read a book written by someone who worked in the food industry. It gave a totally different and insightful perspective on how Big Food influences our choices, and not in a good way. Great read, highly recommended
