DEWALT Orbital Sander, 5-Inch (DWE6421)This orbital sander is powerful. I used it to sand (the ends of) plywood with 3M sandpaper* (80, 100, and 220) and sanding was quick and easy. The filter works great, but be sure to empty it every so often for best results. The only thing I didn't like about this sander was the on/off switch, because the rubber protection cover was probably made for a larger switch, and the switch is a little hard to find (no jokes please). Very minor complaint for me.*Do yourself a favor and use 3M sandpaper.I believe I bought this on sale and at the price I got it at (if I recall correctly ~50) I would definately recommend it, but it is worth more than that (I'd buy it again at a non-sale price, now that I know it's good) - I scored on the Amazon Prime sale for sure! I received no compensation for this review.

Love this sander.
I purchased the sander because I had one just like it. The other one I used for over 10 years. It is very well-made. I highly recommend this brand. This is a great price. It is very easy to use

Great pad sander. I install unfinished hardwood floors. I use this sander for my sealer and finish coats. It works great. I have had many of these sanders I think this is the best one.

Decent sander, but . . .
I've used orbital sanders for years, and stuck with Porter Cable most of the time. I decided to try a Dewalt model, since they usually have good products. This one is decent but has a couple drawbacks. First, the power cord is too short. Secondly, it is quite noisy (much noisier than the Porter Cable). One good feature, however, is the dust collection canister on the sander. It is very easy to take on and off, and doesn't fall off during use. The Porter cable system is not very secure. Not sure what I'll use next time. Maybe Porter Cable has improved their dust collector (take note Porter Cable, if anyone there reads reviews).

Great go-to orbital sander for everyday use
I've found this orbital sander to be a great entry level sander that I can use on a regular basis. It's been reliable for me and worth the price point.
