Lovely book but I have a question...
Lovely book with clear instructions and illustrations. I bought this when my baby was around 3 months old. I would be interested to hear from others in comments below what age they started with their baby and what age the baby started signing back. I think my baby might start to have understood "milk" and "sleep" a month after starting so curious what experiences others have had, and a quick scroll through reviews didn't come up with much. In return I'll update this review once I start seeing her repeat signs back to me.UPDATE: Our baby is now nearly 6 months old and seems to understand the sign for milk. I just have to say it to her and she pushes herself back, smiles and opens her mouth ready for a feed. We have started weaning and hence using the sign for eat too. She seemed to pick that up very quickly and smiles and kicks her legs when we do the sign for it.UPDATE : she started signing back at around 6 or 7 months old. She used sleep a lot when she was tired and also milk. She is now nearly 3 and an excellent communicator. Whether that has anything to do with my use of sign language I'm not sure but it was fab when she did. I cried the first time I noticed her sign at me!

Brilliant book
Brilliant book. I ended up buying one for my mum too. This book is quite big so easy for an adult to hold but also is a board book so can be used by little ones too. The illustrations show little cartoons doing baby sign language signs they also have a bit of text to explain what to do. Lots of useful everyday signs in this book and also some nice extras. Very simple to understand and nice for your little one to look at too. The signs are for the UK so follow Makaton and British Sign Language signs. Would recommend this for people wanting to try baby signing with their babies especially if you can't access baby signing groups.

Great and easy to understand
This book is great! Simple to use, cute illustrations and clear instructions. Made of card so if baby feels like a bit of a chew it's no issue at all! It's bigger than I thought it would be but that has made it easier to use as pictures are bigger. We started with the sign for milk and eat at 6 months old. Now we're three weeks in and my daughter understands them when i do them and gets excited.

It is great having a book that Daddy can look at with ...
This is a lovely book, which covers a lot of the signs we are learning in our BSL baby sign classes. It is great having a book that Daddy can look at with our daughter, as he misses out on the classes and is finding it harder to learn. He reads the book most evenings and practices with me.It is important to check whether your classes are BSL or ASL based, as many of the signs are very different. This book uses BSL signs.

love this book.
Me and my boys love this book. I started using the basi sings, like food , bed , milk arlund 6 months and and 8/9 months my boys would use them too. Now there a little older they like to sit with me and read through thr different signs whilst practicing to do them. The book itself is a good size with a Latout easy for young children. I thought it was extremely reasonably priced compared to the prices in the larger book stores. Overall im very happy and thing learning basic sign is a fab idea to help you children starting to communicate
