Concise detailed reference
The Writer's Legal Guide 4th edition is the perfect amount of information for writers. I was particularly impressed by this work because I am a new author and this book helped me to put the key concepts in my mind specific to writing as a professional.

This is a Reference Book for Writers
This book was suggested by the Author's Guild (not to be confused with the Writer's Guild which only deal with screen writers) in my area. It is designed to be a reference to help writers avoid legal pitfalls and not a book to sit down and read. It appears to be well organized which is mandatory for reference materials.

Writing is a business!
When I started writing, I never thought about the legal implications of what I was doing. This book opened my eyes and made me realise that I needed to change my attitude and adopt a more business approach if I wanted to succeed. So much information! A perfect gift for any author!

A Good Reference
Even though this book was written by lawyers, there are a few places where I wish it went into more detail. Nonetheless it serves as a great starting point for some topics and provides invaluable insight on others. It has definitely earned a place on my desk as I find myself referring to it often as questions regarding my work come up. At the very least it is helpful when aiming to educate yourself before the need to consult an attorney arises and in some instances eliminates the need completely-- saving you time and money!

Good but could be better
It's not enough to make the proper decisions but it's a lot better than nothing when you're trying to parse a contract or avoid libel
