Simple, effective, and excellent quality
This UTM ruler/protractor is perfect for your NatGeo Trails Illustrated maps. It's simple and straightforward to use, and is made of very sturdy and lightweight plastic (more robust than your standard military protractor, if you are used to those). Additionally, the literature included with your order is very informative and well thought out. If you lacked knowledge in how to utilize the items you purchased, the inclosed information is enough to familiarize you with the proper implementation of your new tools. Excellent work, and I will be purchasing from MapTools for any similar items in the future.

High quality and does work with some of the National Geographic maps that have an unusual scale.
I need a roamer to use with some of the National Geographic maps that have an oddball scale and this does the job. In retrospect, I wish I had ordered the larger version. However, this one works and it does fit in a small ditty bag or pocket.

Small but nice.
Only about 2.5 inches x 2.5 inches but it should fit the shirt pocket just fine. Sturdy material. Printing is a little lite but there is a white backing around the outer ring, with the degrees.I added a length of thread to the center hole and it seems quite usable and looks to be handy.
