Procession: The Art of Norman Lewis

Once I learned of Norman Lewis, I instantly fell in love with his art and story. This book is so wonderfully done and beautiful, fitting for the equally as exquisite artist Norman Lewis. While I’m not in love with the bright Orange hardback underneath the cover, it makes for a great centerpiece for any coffee table.

I am usually a lover of a painting, not necessarily of a painter and all his works. This is the only time I found an artist that produces such exquisite art that I enjoy almost every piece. I learned of him from a recent morning show on TV and was instantly drawn to his art. It is so amazing. The only disappointment is there are a lot of written sections and what I really wanted was page after page of the artwork itself, with the paintings taking up whole pages. But I'll take what I can get!

Substantial volume in size, quality of printing, and depth of material. If you're intrigued at all by Lewis' works, you'll be pleased. Excellent value.

I'm very impressed with this book, as well as the artist. There are so many images and the reproduction quality is very good. The book itself also seems good and sturdy for such a large, textbook size book. I'm doing a research paper on Norman Lewis, and this book will be extremely helpful.

I went to see the exhibition on Wed. 11-18-2015. The exhibition was top notch. I recommend that every one to go see the Norman Lewis exhibition. I feel confident that this retrospective of Norman Lewis works will take him to another level were he belongs. The book is a must have.

I really appreciated the opportunity to catch up on the marvelous work of Norman Lewis. The illustrations and the scholarship of this book is unparrelleled. I am just sorry the exhibition won't continue to travel.

This book is a comprehensive look at the captivating art story of Norman Lewis. A born artist who despite racism was able to produce professional, creative, quality art. The book is a honorable addition to my home library.
