I find these hairpins to be essentially the only thing that will hold my very dense long fine hair in place for long periods of time without pain, damage, or trouble removing them. I got two sizes: 2.5 inches and 3 inches, and I use them mostly for buns and milkmaid braids. Even the silver ones hide in my hair really well, and the stiffness of the pins makes it easy to place them without poking or putting pressure on your scalp, and the pointy ends prevent snagging when putting them in or removing them.You can spray the pins with hairspray to make them stick in place even better, but I never find that necessary. The finish on the metal is matte, so they are the tiniest bit grippy as a result, so they don't slide out of my hair like painted shiny pins do. These are SO much better constructed than the flimsy straight or crinkle pins from your local beauty supply store - I have been using them almost daily for a couple months and all of them look brand new. I used 3-4 pins to pin the bun in the photo, and they stayed all day. I need to wear my hair up for work in mask-compatible styles, and these pins make that really comfortable.

Heavy duty. These hold my hair. The pins sold in stores, thin bendy short hair pins, bobbby pins, even large roller pins, do not. I used to have very long hair and these would definitly do the job. It is shoulder length now, but still very thick. Nothing else holds all day. For housework etc I do a french twist type style, takes 2 min and stays all day. These would eaily hold a large coiled bun or braids in place as well. This review is for stainless 3 inch straight hair pins. Highly reccomend.

I love these hair pins they are exactly what I was looking for my granny used to use ones like this to put her hair up and now my hair is really long and I need them to put my hair up on my head .. thank you to the amish people for turning me to these hair pins they are awesome

Unfortunately, much to my surprise, these did not stay in my thick, curly hair. They are too expensive to keep buying if they I lose them the first time I put them in. Would not recommend

I have 2 1/2 feet of hair and was wanting something sturdy to keep it up all day. These fit the bill! Sturdy and gentle on the hair. Would buy again!
