It’s the most beautiful copper I’ve ever seen

I have an Amico CH6000LE 6.5K air cooled Diesel portable generator. The single battery that it came with can turn the starter most of the time, BUT. There are intermittent times when the cranking will abruptly stop at TDC on the compression stroke. I can release the starter key and after a brief time, I re-energize the starter and it cranks until it starts. So I come up with the idea of hooking 2 batteries up in parallel. This will effectively double the amperage while maintaining the 12 volt system. What I did, was to take each one of these copper strips, fold it into a copper angle the long way and drilled tabs at each end of both angle strips to connect to the battery terminals (+ red to + red and - black to black -). Since it's not a great idea to leave the terminal jumpers exposed, I bought a small can of red and black liquid electrical tape, and liberally applied a thick coating of brush-on liquid insulation of the appropriate color to each jumper. Everything works perfectly now. I did have to engineer a 2 x battery box that has to sit a lot lower in the frame to fit beside the generating unit but, We Good.

Did some electroplating and it was good.

I bought it for a jewelry project it'll make good base plated for soldering but it not the best finish for outward appearance unless you fo a lot of sanding and polishing
