KS2 Discover & Learn: History - Stone Age to Celts Study Book, Year 3 & 4

Stone age, Bronze age, Iron age, Celt age
Very well presented book again of very high educational value and hence a good value for money. As a history book it almost can’t be clearer; there are plenty of time lines, maps and of course the book is filled with colourful illustrations.I’m a big fan of this series. And my young history-obsessed reader even more, she devours these books for entertainment. So by now I’ve ordered the whole series for her. It really allows her to immerse herself in the era and to soak up lots of details that she will later discuss with me. Can’t be any better really. For me as an adult it’s nice and attractive to read through these books as well as its a clear rehearsal and summary of the basic facts with the occasional bit of new perspective and knowledge. This is the single book in the series that has two topics that are a bit disjointed if you ask me. Also I think that they warrant a separate book each, there is plenty to say and present about each, while I don’t think there is much relationship between stone age people/cultures and the celts. Even so, I’m quite pleased with the book.I really hope some more books will be added to this series, there are plenty of topics I can think of.

My son is using them as part of his home schooling history lessons and finds them quite easy to use
This book accompanies the 'Stone Age to Celts' question book in the series! My son is using them as part of his home schooling history lessons and finds them quite easy to use! The information in this book in broken down into small passages and paragraphs so as to not cause information overload but instead to keep things to basic information that children will have a chance to remember! The glossary in the back is quite helpful as it gives a good basic explanation of history and dates as well as explanations of time periods! All in all a good history information book that gives just enough information without waffling on!

Helpful for teachers
I am a teacher and have used this book to help planning lessons for year 3s. I would say a lot of the info is pitched above year 3 age, however it gave a lot of helpful info and starting points for lessons.

Well present and easy to follow.
I bought this book during the last lockdown to support remote learning for my daughter in year 3. It is very interesting to read and easy to follow to reinforce independent learning.
