Need a lighter, shorter game in your collection? Consider Bang! The Dice Game.
I initially bought this game as a birthday present for a friend. He loves westerns, so I searched the internet for well-rated games with western themes. Bang! came up in my search results, but pretty much every review said that the dice version of the game was the way to go for being simpler and faster, but just as fun. While I've never played the original card-based game, this game has proven to be what was promised. Given the low price, I ultimately bought a copy for myself. When a lighter-weight, fast-play game is required, this is the type of game you want to reach for. Just don't expect it to serve in a game-night role and you'll be all set. Given its short play time (the longest game I played lasted *maybe* 30 minutes), and simple mechanics (roll dice > keep or re-roll dice > apply results to chosen target player), this is the ideal game for a medium-sized group of people (4-8) of mixed ages, abilities, attention spans, and gaming interests. I have played it with regular gamer-types and non-gamers, and after a round of play, literally everyone was able to get into it, and figure it out. I have played it with every possible number of players too, and while it works ok with 3 (the rules actually change to accommodate this), the game really starts to shine around 5+, given the hidden-role mechanic. As you might expect, more players increases the game's length, but it's generally short enough that you could potentially play it multiple times in one sitting. That's actually a cool feature in my opinion, since the same could not be said of any of the other games I play. I generally prefer long-haul games with a bit more complexity that last a few hours, but I still really like Bang! precisely because it's *not* that, but is still really enjoyable; it just fits a different role. The one person I encountered out of 20+ who didn't like it was another regular gamer who thought it was too "basic". While this is a valid opinion, the game never claims to be a serious game for "real" gamers. I see it more as a gateway game that can bring non-gamers to the table, or satisfy gamers who are lacking in time and/or space (the box is less than half the size of a shoebox top - travels well!). So if after reading this, you're still not sure about getting this game, watch a short video review of it on youtube to help make the final decision. If it still looks even a little interesting to you, then just buy it. There really isn't much to lose.

Little box which packs a big bang. A real crowd pleaser. A game I personally bring to the table again and again.
Bang the dice game This game takes the number 1 spot as a 8 player game for me in my personal game collection. A cowboy themed dice game. It's awesomeness packed in a small box. A real gem of a game. Easy to teach, simple and quick to play make this a ideal game to play. Priced around £16 you will definitely get your money's worth and bring it to the table on many of occasions. A great game to play with both your friends and family. A real crowd pleaser. What's the objective of the game? It really depends on who you are. There are 4 possible roles to play. sheriff, detective, outlaw or renegade. The sheriff's job is to kill the outlaws, the detective's job is to keep the sheriff alive, the outlaws job is to kill the sheriff and the renegades job is to be the last man standing. The catch is the only person who identifies himself is the sheriff so nobody knows who anyone is as you have to figure it out as each player takes a turn. The game ends immediately when the sheriff dies or all out laws are dead. This is a great game to introduce a group of people to dice throwing games. Positives A game that plays up to 8 players at its best Simple to teach. Easy to play. Quick to play. Perfect for camping trips, music festivals, dinner parties or a family gathering. Negatives on the box it states that it plays 3-8 players. It's worth playing something else if you only have 4 players. There are ample games out there that play 4 players well. I would only bring this to the table with 5 or more players it plays at its best with the full 8 players. Round up. A must have for anyone wanting to build a games collection. Whilst there are games I would rather play with 4 players there is no other game I want to play more than bang the dice game with 8 players. This is by far my most played game. With 4 role playing cards combined with numerous characters (special abilities) cards which add massive replayability keep this game enjoyable no matter how many times it's played. Be warned. Bang is like an addictive drug. Once tried you will want another bang fix. Ratings. A easy 5/5.

Great hidden role game.
This is a very fun hidden role game. I understand thee is another version of this game as well, which is played with cards instead of dice, so please make sure you are buying the right one. This game has 3 factions: 1. Sheriff and his deputies (The goal of this team is to kill outlaws) 2. Outlaws (The goal of this team is to kill the sheriff. They can kill deputies too but if sheriff dies they win) 3. Renegades (This team wants to be the last man standing) At the beginning of the game, the Sheriff is revealed. He is the only one to be revealed. The outlaws try to kill him. The deputies try to heal the Sheriff and kill the outlaws. The renegades play an interesting balancing role. While outlaws are alive, they try to keep the sheriff alive. If the Sheriff dies the outlaws win. If all Outlaws are dead but the sheriff is alive the Renegades try to kill the sheriff and deputies to win themselves. So early on when the sheriff is healed, is he being healed by a Deputy or a Renegade? Nobody knows and it can make for a very fun game. There are different abilities for everyone on the board via character cards and a very funny and at times frustrating Indian attack event. The game is awesome and has a great replay value. Being a dice game, it means that sometimes you end up with bad rolls, but so do your enemies so it works out. If you like hidden role games, you will enjoy this one. The games says 15 minutes to play but I would say that it is closer to 20 to 30 minutes with 5 plus people. Buy it. You will not regret it.
