Is the corn starch in this baking powder from ORGANIC corn? (otherwise it's almost certain to be GMO)

If it is not NON-GMO project verified I wouldn’t trust that it is NON-GMO. Regarding the use of Roundup/Glyphosate on the products that BOBS RED MILL sells, I asked them and BOBS RED MILL takes a DONT ASK, DONT TELL stance. BOBS RED MILL refuses to ask their suppliers whether they do or do not use Roundup/Glyphosate on their products so BOBS RED MILL does not have to acknowledge that their non-organic products are contaminated with Roundup/Glyphosate. If it is a BOBS RED MILL product that is not NON-GMO project verified and not USDA ORGANIC certified do not trust that it is safe.

Can this be used at a 1:1 ratio replacement for regular baking powder in any recipe???

yes. just use as called for in the recipe. double-acting baking powder is said to be more reliable than single-acting for home baking. but weather a recipe calls for double-acting or single acting baking powder, use the same amount (and as a sidenote if you're doubling a baking recipe be careful and don't double baking powder unless the recipe says it can be doubled, as you might get bitter dough). I have read that there might be a difference between baking powders with aluminum and without if you're letting the dough sit around before baking (don't know how long it would have to be) but I myself haven't noticed a difference whether i bake right away or not (i.e.: claims of less dough rise in the oven with aluminum free baking powder).

I tried to use it in Panasonic SD 2511 brad baking machine but dough did not rise...I put in 1 tea spoon as requred; do you have any idea?

Quick breads, which use baking powder, can be baked in some bread machines, but many require less baking soda than if they are baked in a regular oven. Look for recipes at allrecipes.com/recipe/7116/banana-bread---quick-bread-for-machines/ or http://www.breadmachinediva.com/category/quick-breads-in-the-bread-machine/Also, it is possible your baking powder has gone stale, and lost its power. To test pour a few tablespoons of white distilled vinegar into a small bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda - if it's fresh, the mixture should fizz and bubble furiously.Finally, IMHO, quick breads made in the bread machine simply don't taste as good as those baked in the oven. If you have that option, you might want to try it. :)
