Q: can you use in the gentrial area.

I'm no doctor but it seems safe enough. I would say yes. It shouldn't hurt and it could help and it is much cheaper than prescription meds. It is certainly worth a try for price. Also taking 1000 mg of Llysine over the counter supplements a day can reduce and minimize out breaks and doubling to 2000 mg a day during outbreaks could reduce outbreak time. My doctor knows and recommended it as I can't take prescription meds. It works and is safe. No side effects noted. Good luck.

I would consider it an ointment. It has vit E, A, and other interesting oils in it. Also, it's 0.75 oz.

The recent box I received is not the same packaging in the photo here. It is White, with green shades of leaves around a brown square. Active ingredients Menthol 0.1%. They changed the formula from the old, removing zinc oxide. lysine is not the first ingredient..
