Amazon Basics 11.6 inch Laptop Sleeve, Protective Case with Zipper - Black

Recently, I spent my hard earned money on a 13.3" Macbook Pro Mid 2012. I like to take care of my personal belongings, and this $1000 piece of machinery was no exception. So this began my search for a laptop sleeve. Wandering my local general stores (Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, etc.) I noticed a cheap laptop sleeve (as in cheap quality) was nearly $16! I was like HECK NO! So I jumped on Amazon (btw amazon is the best shoutout to all the hard workers running this website and service) and searched a laptop sleeve. After approximately 9.24 seconds of searching I came across this gem. COULD IT BE?!?? An affordable, durable, and classy laptop sleeve for under $10. Being the educated consumer I started to read reviews. I came across a few that said: Laptop Didn't Fit. This was it, this was the end, I built it all up to let myself down. But being the poor High-School student I am, I pocketed some of my parents lunch money and ordered it. When it got here I opened the package. You know the scene in Star Wars when Darth Vader removed his mask? That's what it was like, shocking, but beautiful. I unboxed it and immediately took my laptop out of my backpack (which was stored in a nice soft tee-shirt previous to this sleeve purchase) and tried to slip it in the case. Wow. The sleeve fit like a glove. If you have a 13.3" Macbook Pro Mid 2012, I highly recommend this product. It protects your laptop very well and snug. No other sleeve is as affordable, fashionable, and durable as this one.

I recently purchased the Dell Inspiron 2 in 1 11.6" laptop and wanted a good, but inexpensive case for it for when I want to take it somewhere. I saw some in local stores but the price was much more than I wanted to spend and, since I already buy so many things on here, I figured I could see what Amazon had to offer. My first search result was this AmazonBasics laptop sleeve and I had never bought that particular brand before. I researched this case a lot and for the 11.6" sleeve, it seemed like reviews were somewhat mixed depending on the model of laptop. However, I figured for around $10, I could take a chance and exchange it if necessary. When this arrived a few days ago, I immediately slipped my laptop in and it fits like a glove. I will say it is a snug fit and I have to tug the zipper ever so slightly around the rather squared edges of my laptop but not so much that it will be a problem. The zipper and material aren't straining at all when the zipper is closed. The sleeve is probably most suitable for laptops with more rounded edges but if you have the same laptop I do, it will fit just fine with just a little bit of pulling to get it to fit. The sleeve seems to be made well enough so I'm not too concerned with it ripping easily. The case is nicely padded but still slim so it will fit comfortably in a larger laptop bag, backpack, or even a large purse. I got the purple case and it is a beautiful color! To me, it looks like a grape purple and I couldn't be happier with my selection. If my thoughts on this laptop sleeve change, I will update my review but it seems most people have had good success with it. I encourage anyone who is looking for a good-quality, inexpensive case to give this one some consideration. It is working well for my laptop and I wasn't even sure if it would! I highly recommend it!

Not-so-much if the fit is less-than-perfect. DESCRIPTION > Beautifully made. Looks great. Almost velvet-like interior fabric lining. Outside fabric is a deep dark black. > As I describe below, the Amazon sleeve is NOT stretchy. With stretchy sleeves, your grip is less secure, because your computer/tablet can slip around inside the sleeve and the sleeve can "caterpillar", unbalancing your grip. You can get a good grip on the Amazon sleeve. > The sleeve is designed for tablets or thin-computer with rounded corners. CUSHIONING/PROTECTION > The Amazon sleeve provides excellent protection against light bumps etc., better than other inexpensive sleeves. BUT: > Beware that sleeves, no matter how well built, are not substitutes for heavier-duty cases. It is much easier to drop a sleeve than a case with handgrips and shoulder straps. FOR TRAVEL For travel, the Amazon CASE makes a good "personal bag" (especially for guys who don't have handbags)---you can stow a lot of non-computer stuff in it, such as an MP3 player and a couple of breakfast bars. If you use a SLEEVE for travel, it (and your computer/tablet) should be stowed INSIDE your luggage. It is simply just too easy to fumble a sleeve when your hands are already full with boarding passes, IDs, and other luggage. SIZE AND FIT > The "stretchy" sleeves (from other brands) are "one-size-fits-all" (within a range of sizes and shapes). The AMAZON sleeve is NOT. > According to Amazon the 14" Amazon sleeve is 9.4" x 13.4" x 0.4 inside > My wife's rounded Dell which measures 9 5/8" x 10 3/4" x 1 1/4" fits as though the case was made for it > My older square-cornered Thinkpad measures 10 1/4" x 13 x 1 1/4" does NOT fit at all---even through it is only 5/8" deeper --It is primarily the rounded corners of the Dell that makes the difference > Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

Perfect for my 11.6 Chromebook. Lightweight and well padded. Only thing that I would have done is add a carrying handle. Thus the star deduction.

I bought this laptop case after breaking my previous laptop, so I needed something protective for college. This one feels very solid without being bulky. The padding is thick enough to absorb bumps when I’m carrying it in my backpack between classes. I’ve been using it regularly, and it still looks new with no fraying or loose stitching. The fit is snug but not tight, and my laptop slides in easily. If you need a case that actually protects your device without adding weight, this is a great choice.

I use the 14-inch sleeve for my early 2017 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. It's a snug, wetsuit-like fit; all you need to do is stretch it a little bit to pull the zipper around the top of the computer. I have a leather backpack that's not laptop-specific (no compartments or dividers, no zippers, just a top flap) and this is the perfect solution. I like the idea of another reviewer who suggested a version with a size zip, since a lot of bags won't accommodate a laptop inserted sideways and it might enable you to take out of your pack without removing the case itself. But it's a minor thing, really. It's also worth noting that this case is not intended to provide maximum armor-like protection from drops, so you'll be disappointed if that's what you need. It's great for protecting against bumps, jostles, and hard/pointy objects (keys, pens, whatever) that might scratch your expensive investment. It's probably not the best choice for people who are hard on their equipment. For example, my fiancée runs a dance company and is constantly throwing her laptop into her bag and running out the door to rehearsals and work with the sound/lighting technicians, so that computer changes hands (and places) A LOT. She needs, and uses, something a lot more robust. This case is for commuting and coffee shops, not modern warfare. Of course, you could always buy a bigger size and use it in tandem with a hard case if you really want to go nuts. If I had to find something to criticize, it's that the material tends to attract pet hair and if it's short, like my vizsla's, it can be a pain to remove. Otherwise, It's just a simple, well-made product and an absolute bargain.
