The book is very simple and show the different joints in woodworking. It is specific and have details in each area. Very good for woodworking beginners.

I liked the overall efficiency.

This is a quality book for anyone intrested in woodworking. If you are interested in what tools and techinques to use and you are just getting started this is a great book. There are pictures and the information is presented in a wonderful way. Everything is very clear and having the pictures are vital showing you the steps very well. He includes some techinques you have heard of and seen before as well as some you may have never known about or seen before, which is wonderful. It is nice to see something new and try something new. There are some beautiful projects in this book, especially for a beginner's project book. Often in such a book there are just basic elements, but he provides even more and does so very well.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The book is very helpful and informative. After reading the book I am now able to decide which joinery to use for a particular project.

People in the reviews complaining about poor editing and photo quality- this is someone's project and not a big budget book so that's too be expected and doesn't take away from the quality of information at all.The issue is that the book does a great job of explaining what the joints are and where/when to use them- but there's little to no specific instruction on actually creating the joint.This book is a good read to learn what the types of joints are and maybe help pick one for your project- but you'll need to do your own research to figure out how to make the joint. If there's a new edition with detailed instructions, tips, and common mistakes- this would absolutely be 5 stars.

Very informative for the won who is ready to build

I purchased this book hoping to get some good insight at joinery and this book did not help, I should’ve just read a Wikipedia page. Here’s 2 examples that exemplifies my argument. 1) There is a section discussing joinery tools and has no mention of routers or machines but then tells you to use these things in the “beginner” projects at the back. 2) The section on CNC joinery doesn’t even spell out the acronym. This isn’t a joinery thing, just a common communication expectation for any author/person. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control.

While I am no expert at woodworking joins, I do know about grammar. This book needs to go through the editing process again because there was a ton of things missed during the first round. It’s difficult to understand what the author is trying to convey if there are words missing or the author used the wrong word.

Book seems informative but was disappointed it was all in black in white and the print quality wasn’t great
