These are made by Ideal, be forewarned
I've had goats 20 years and find these style nipples very useful for sickly, picky or small goat kids. In fact, it's now the kind a start any of my bottle kids on because they take to them so well. However, this is the first time I ordered them through Amazon and failed to read that these are made by Ideal. They are stiffer and not as supple as the original brand. In and of themselves they work fine but if you are looking for the original these aren't them.

Leaks freely while just suspended up-side-down.
The media could not be loaded. The set we received, both leak profusely from where the collar and nipple meet. seems to be from the ball/breather system. About a quarter of the bottle will dribble out and onto the new-born lamb we are nursing. The nupple is of a great texture, seems well made, but the leaking is a real drawback for our liking.Gave it a 3-star as for outdoor farm use, it is Okay. But for an inside nursery use, it is lacking in potential.

They are a good size for newborns and they take to them quickly ...
This is one of those things that every livestock operation should have on hand in their emergency animal medical kit. You hope you dont have a baby abandoned or orphaned, but situations arise and you have to be prepared. These nipples can be the difference between life and death. They are a good size for newborns and they take to them quickly and do not have any trouble adjusting, much better that other commercial bottle nipples we have bought. I highly recommend keeping a new set in your birthing kit at all times.

Perfect for goat kids
We raise goats and seem to end up with at least one bottle baby every kidding season; we've had as many as five at a time. I've never had a problem getting a kid to latch on to these nipples. They're softer than other livestock nipples and longer than a human baby bottle's nipple (though you can use those in a pinch). They are easy to clean and stand up to a lot of wear and tear; they typically last us a couple of years. They screw on, so you'll need a bottle with a narrow-neck screw top. We typically use an old molasses bottle; the glass retains the heat well and lasts longer than a plastic bottle.

Good if it's not damaged
I have used these nipples for years. The last one got me through seven kids, but I ordered these for backups just in case. When they arrived one nipple was damaged and unusable. It was like the plasic had parted at the seam. Other then that, these are the best nipple I have used for goats. I love that they screw on and have a vent hole.
