great finish and adjust-ability, works on Henry
I am using mine on a Henry Big Boy brass carbine, and the steel receivers should be the same. There are 3 screws on the top of the Henry receivers - this Williams sight will match the rearmost hole (uses two screws), the middle (one screw only) or the front (one screw) depending on your preference. Looks-wise, the middle one works best. The Williams-supplied screws in the kit fit the Henry holes perfectly, and one screw has proven plenty secure. I also used a Marble's #: 001187 to fill the now-empty dovetail slot. The existing front sight will work, but only if you run the Williams rear sight all the way down to its lowest position. Alternately, you can replace the front sight (usually required on any rear sight mounted on the top of the receiver). Used a Marble's 205331 front sight from Midway.com (same look as the stock Henry front sight) - I used the 1/2" wide by 0.530 high to match the new rear when set at mid-point.Bottom line: this $32 Williams sight is far cheaper and much more adjustable than any other rear sights available for Henry's - they start at $95-$110 and with those there is no height/elevation adjustment so you MUST change the front sight (or it shoots crazy high).

Great upgrade from open fld sights
Easy to install. Use blue loctite. Screw heads have very thin slot. Zeroed in a few shots. Did not need a new front sight. On the small marlin 1894 looks natural, not as large as the F.P. sight. They are good too. Have one on marlin 1895 45/70. Cheapest peep on the market. $60 less than the skinner...would buy again. Advertised to be made from tuff aluminum.

Wonderful sight, even if it cost double.
I will start by stating that I installed this sight on a Marlin 336 W 30-30 as i did not get a great sight picture with the semi buckhorn rear sight and my shots covered a 6" to 7" pattern at 50 yards as the front sight covered a large area. (I was also on the lowest rung of the elevated sight and was still hitting hight). Installing this William's sight was super easy. (The hardest part was removing the place holder screws on the rifle.) Unfortunently I could not get the sight low enough as I still hit 9" high at 50 yards. I then removed the original front sight and replaced it with an XS front sight that was .450 tall (I was going to swap the front sight out anyhow.) And it is now a tack driver. This Williams WGRS-336 sight is well worth the money. I do wish it worked with stock sights but that was a non event for me as I was going to change out for a better "low light" front sight anyhow. With a rest, I am shooting clover leaves or better at 50 yards.***to make this sight better, I would like to see hash marks on the windage adjustment for reference. There are hash Mark's on the elevation but not windage. This would help!***

Great peep sight
I purchased this peep sight for my Marlin 336. I love the sight. The quality is great, and it does not feel cheap. I am taking off one star, maybe unfairly, because the peep will not adjust down low enough to use with my stock front sight. If you are using it on a Marlin 336, you will need to replace the front sight with at least a half inch tall front sight. Other than that it is really nice, and has turned the Marlin into a great brush gun.

Solid performer.
This works great with a lever action rifle. I will zero it with the insert. For hunting, I pull the insert out and use it as a ghost ring. Works very well. Holds zero perfectly.
