Good Exhaust carbon filter
So far, it is doing its job. Fast delivery and easy hook up if you size match everything. In my grow setup I have the Vivosun tent, 6”fan, and 6” ducting.1st setup I tried the filter siting on the ground (intake option) outside the tent with the fan on top and the ducting to the tent. Saved space, the fan fit right into the filter, it ran decently quiet but, when I got close to the filter I could smell a faint plant/flower scent. 2nd and current setup is the filter inside the tent hung above the plants. (A little scary because this thing is heavy) Then ducting straight to the fan which sits outside tent. I smell nothing coming out of the fan and the fan doesn’t seem to be working too hard, though I do notice a little more restriction this way. So my verdict. Out of the box the filter kills the Mary Jane smell. The filter seems to flow effortlessly as a intake filter, but works more effectively as a exhaust filter.I am a happy customer.

AWESOME!
We got this and within less than one week the filter was covered in dirt and whatever else was in the air. We have taken it off a few times and it's super easy to wash and put back on. Very easy to put together and put onto the wall.

Seems to work well
So for starters, I am using this with a six inch inline fan connected with a reducer fitting to make a DIY air purifier, I have no idea how this performs with the 4 inch fan as I assume that's what most people pair this with.My purifier is an extraordinarily basic design, but it is the activated charcoal in it that really makes it special. It has been able to filter just about any bad smell/VOC I've come across and has cleared my 300 sq/ft garage of spray paint fumes in less than 10 minutes (granted the small door was open but I was still impressed). Also I painted the closet in my bedroom and neither my girlfriend or I could smell a thing sitting barely 10 feet away when we had it between us.So this filter really works as far as I can tell, sadly I do not have any air quality monitoring devices on hand to make a confirmation. I'm not entirely sure how to check if the charcoal needs replacing so I can't say too much about longevity just yet, however I have been using my home-made air purifier almost daily for a good 4-5 months now and it seems to still be doing a pretty good job. With how much I use spray paint, epoxy, and solvents I'm fairly impressed it's helped protect me from all the breathing buddies for this long.

Working good at end of week 1 flower I installed
The reversible flange isn't airtight that's why I put 4 stars . I duct taped the inside between th hard plastic and flange to fix that .at end of First week of flower chlorophyll smell and "WHAT NOT"was bad so bought this and after installing I have now zero smell coming out of tent .works good with 195 cfm fan. No seriouse reduction in suction or nun noticeable anyways . Notbad for first day for the money will update in a month if and when it stops working but all around seems like solid product. My order came with no loose carbon and I couldn't hear it even shift when I shook it so I feel bad for those negative reviews who got a 1 in a 100 bad product I wouldn't shame this 4in by 14 filter just yet. If u feel u purchased it and sum the ain't right ur probably right it happends return it tight away don't wait till ur screwed. Then that's on u. But mines workn fine . Can't even smell the lavender in there . Oh its a 3ftx3ftx6ft tent with 400whps and 195cfm fan I have all being filter through this 4x14 vivosun carbon filter. I'ld as of now buy again.I just mite run two exhaust cause the price is there and my tent running 95 degreesI hope this review was helpfull! I tried to give the best of my knowledge so far. Workn on a way t I refill these will also make a review on how once I figure an easy way. --- just checkn back in still no smell on January 5th 5 weeks into flower live love Maine lol

quality for cost.
Works perfect to keep the smell inside my grow room contained while also acting as a good exhaust to clear the warm air. Just bought another for a second grow tent

meets expectation per advertised details
On my second one. No issues.I like being able to invert the ends for a little more longevity. For my non-standard use, I run a duct from my above-the-oven microwave, through the top cabinet, onto the top of the cabinet where it sits. Magnitude more charcoal filtering going on. CFM rating is much higher than the microwave, so I do not believe their is too much back pressure on the fans. Filtering of cooking odors is significantly better in my condo! I have not been able to devise anything close to this good for filtering cooking smells in my condo. Surprised there is no commercial kit/product catering to microwave owners in my situation.
