Really nice buckets that seal well Some have been used for food storage and some have been turned into hydroponic grow buckets for tomatoes and peppers

Good quality, snug lids, no smell
For some reason it won’t let me leave 5 stars. These are nice buckets. No smell, lids are very snug. I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing and did as the others have recommended. Such as removing the safety ring on the lid before putting them on the buckets and buying a bucket opener. Work as expected and are good quality.

Must remove tab before pressing down on the lid. Also, get the opener tool.
When I first received my buckets and lids, I tried to put a lid on one of the buckets. I pressed down with all of my 210 lb body's force and it failed to seal. Then, I removed a tab on the lid and tried again. This time it sealed, but still took me a lot of force before it would seal. I only put it on about 1/4 of the lid and took the lid back off. It took me lifting with a lot of force to lift it back off of the bucket. So, I thought it best to buy a 5-gallon bucket lid opener tool and maybe you should too. Hopefully, that will solve the problem:https://www.amazon.com/gp/buy/thankyou/handlers/display.html?purchaseId=106-4528610-4305054&ref_=chk_typ_browserRefresh&isRefresh=1
