These packets are quite mild. My husband, who does not care for spicy food at all, says they are just right.

Well, you can certainly eat them without heating. They are fully cooked and so it would not pose any health risk. It is just a matter of personal preference. If you are stuck without a microwave, you could certainly eat them without heating. They are precooked, so there would be no health issue. You could also put the packet, unopened in a sink filled with hot water, to warm it up a bit.
