Comfy and easy on/off for fractured scaptula
This is so much more comfortable than my ER-provided sling and very easy to get on and off. Here are the key highlights: 1. The sling material itself is very lightweight and breathable just as advertised. 2. There is no buckle or other component in the back to push on you while you sit or sleep. It's just fabric sewn together and I haven't felt yet. 3. The adjustment strap in the front is Velcro and makes for very quick single-handed on-and-off. That point, in particular, is very important to me because my particular injury allows me to remove the sling when I'll be in a seated position for a while. So I can either quickly loosen the sling and allow my arm to lower into my lap or in just a few more seconds can remove the sling altogether. This is a pretty substantial departure from the buckle based slings which require much greater dexterity and.or two hands. 4. The clean black design looks more professional and goes well with business attire. Though I haven't fully tested this theory, I expect that it won't get stained as easily, either. Overall, I'm very happy with this new sling and plan to wear it for the duration of my recovery. However, it's also important to note that my particular injury allows me more movement in terms of the precise position of my shoulder. If yours is such that a small movement, for example allowing your arm to hang more to the side rather than directly across your chest, then this sling may not provide the stability needed. For me, that flex ability is ideal and allows me greater comfort.

good sling but loses stickiness over time
Update: I have been wearing for 2+ weeks now and velcro has almost entirely lost its stickiness and my arm has fallen out a few times. Thankfully, my recovery is going well, and I have enough strength to hold up my arm when it falls out. Not sure how long these should last but seeing as how I wear it all day, I get that it might lose stickiness even though I've been careful to keep my hair and pet hair out of the velcro. Even though not super sticky, I still really like the product and will just reorder it since nothing else even worked for me. Also the little thumb holders are annoying, and I have to tie them together and tuck them so they stay out of my way. I broke my arm and had corrective surgery, and this sling has been ESSENTIAL for my recovery and comfort. I have tried out so many slings, and this is by far the best one! It is so comfortable especially if you want to wear a t-shirt or tank top and will have your bare arm in the sling - there aren’t any uncomfortable Velcro areas on the inner bit (unlike most slings). It is also super durable and has a strong Velcro which means I don’t have to worry about it coming undone and my arm falling out (which happened with the one the ER gave me). I also like how long the sling can be made - this is helpful if you’re sitting watching tv or relaxing and just want to let your arm loose a little. Only negative is the thumb band - I don’t use it and it can be a little annoying, but it is easy to tuck away, so it isn’t that big of a deal. I highly recommend this to anyone who is tall and/or fat- it fits so nice and allows for loose wear as well!

A little disappointed in the XL sling
I love the Think Ergo sling in large and thought the best features are that it is adjustable both at the elbow and in the front.also, that the Large size it’s truly as usable on a left arm as on the right. This version, the XL, which has a longer “sleeve” from elbow to fingers, makes a real difference if one has wrist drop. However, there is only one place for adjusting the strap and that is in front, via Velcro and when used on one’s left arm, the branded tab is against the skin and scratchy. The importance of type of fastener is more important than I could have imagined - my doc would like me to loosen the sling multiple times a day to flex my elbow. This is not easily accomplished with the Velcro closure. The smaller sling has a very easily adjusted front closure. I have to return this, as it will not function as well as the Think Ergo “large” sling.

Great wrist and hand support
My son says this is the best sling for his brachial plexus injury. The XL provides a long enough sleeve to support his wrist and hand making him more comfortable.

BEST OFFERED BY AMAZON
You never know how difficult life can be until you lose the use of your arm. So, a good sling makes all the difference. I tried 6 other slings offered by Amazon; but this one is the best because: PROS: 1. soft fabric (everything already hurts enough already without putting your arm in a scratchy sling) 2. breathable fabric (since I live in a hot climate this is going to be essential in the coming months) 3. washable (I threw this in the wash in a load of cold, hung it on a hangar for 2 hours, and it looked and smelled fresh, clean, and bright) 4. fits well (I don't have a cast, so I don't know if it would fit over one, but am 5'6" 155lbs and it fits perfectly) 5. could work for either arm (I'm using it on my right, but other than the velcro strap tightening on the inside instead of the outside, this would work on my left) 6. velcro strap has protective edges (THIS IS WHERE THE ERGO ARM SLING IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN ALL THE REST!!!!!! ALL the other slings I tried leave the raw edge of velcro exposed, and it rubbs a raw spot on your shoulder/neck/chest. This sling has an edge of fabric stitched around the velcro so it never touches your bare skin.) 7. no buckles (many of the others have a buckle for fastening in the mid-chest range. the buckle of each of the other slings rubbed a sore spot on my chest within 45 minutes, even through clothing) 8. easily adjustable (simply pull the strap backwards over your head and it tightens) 9. good sizing (this sling fits me almost like the male in the picture, and I'm a smaller female) 10. thumb straps (it comes with 2 thumb straps which prevent the sling from twisting backwards, leaving your hand exposed) 11. easy to put on (I just open the sling out on a counter. rest my arm in the opening, and then pull the strap to tighten) CONS: The velcro itself has the shortest nap of any of the other slings. This means it doesn't stick together quite as well; but it stays nicely in place. I'm just concerned that over time, and with frequent washing, it may quit holding firmly in place.
