Fun and informative!
I have to admit when a friend told me about the game I thought it sounded a little dull (although I do love history). Played this with my family however and we loved it, so much so I have bought another pack. The tin is very small so easy to carry around with you if you suddenly fancy a game in the pub with friends. I would say that if there are a few players, after a few games you soon end up with a couple of the same cards being dealt out. Not a deal breaker though (excuse the pun)! Just another reason to buy another pack.

Fun quick game
A fun quick game, and it's really easy to put in a pocket and take out to pubs. Only downside is once you've played it a few times you start to memorise the dates, and it becomes a memory test as opposed to a guessing game. Wouldn't say it has replay value but good once in a while.

Fantastic game. Surprised nobody thought of it sooner.
Holy cow, my family loves this game. It doesn't take long to play and you are secretly learning historic info the entire time. Game difficulty can be adjusted by how many cards you start off with, and other sets can be combined with this one to make it even more interesting. It's also small enough you could bring it anywhere. Heck, you could play it at a restaurant while waiting for your food. Great game. Art is good too.

Fun game! Works with all other Timeline game versions. Flexible number of players.
I got this game to add to our collection of fun and easy party board games. It is a very simple premise that gets more difficult the longer you play. Players are dealt a number of "event" cards with the year of the event on the back (hidden from their view). There is an initial reference event card laid on the table, with the year of the event shown. On each player's turn, they have to place one of their cards on the table in the appropriate order in the timeline. Once they have placed their card where they think it belongs, the year of that event is revealed (the card is flipped over.) If their guess was correct, the card remains in place, and play advances to the next player. If they are wrong, the card is removed, and the player has to replace it with a new card to their hand, and play advances to the next player. Play continues until on person has accurately placed all of their cards in the timeline. The game gets more difficult the longer you play as the "gaps" in the timeline get smaller and smaller, and your guesses require more accuracy. It is very flexible as to the number of players, and you can mix and match cards from multiple Timeline game versions to expand the subject matter, etc.The game decks are physically small and contained neatly in a metal tin that is perfect for bringing on trips or taking to a friends house. The only negative I could possibly see is that if you play often enough, you are more likely to remember the dates of the events, which might make replays slightly less fun. That said, you are learning history, so totally worth it, in my book! This game will be more difficult for kids who don't know history, but again, is a fun way to learn!
