4 Kitchen Large Butter Dish with Lid, Perfect for East or West Butter, Quality Durable Ceramic, with Cute Handle

My second butter dish from Amazon proved to be another disappointment. This dish LOOKS great - it’s got rustic character and looks cute. However, when I pulled this out of the box, right away it felt like a cheap dollar-store item. This porcelain is light - the kind they make little figurines to place in a curio cabinet. Worse yet, the fact that the lip of the lid is not even glazed (upon further reading of negative reviews on here, it seems it gathers mold! eww!). I immediately put it back in the box and prepared it for a return because I KNOW it’s going to chip and break after a few uses.Hilariously, it says on the box “restaurant-grade”. Having worked in restaurants for decades, I have no doubt that this wouldn’t last a day in one.

Prior to it's arrival, I had a nightmare that it arrived but was 1.5-ft long and Amazon wouldn't except a return, so I cried about how it wouldn't fit on my counter.... Well alas, it arrived and is regular sized so thank goodness for that! No tears here!In all seriousness, I wish the dimension was just 1/4 an inch more in depth because then I would be able to fit 3 sticks side by side in it vertically. (West Coast sticks. Google search "Tillamook Butter" if you need a reference). It does fit 2 sticks horizontally though, so that will suffice. It's a super cute butter dish, heavy duty and good quality, and arrived packaged really well is super thick styrofoam.I love it!

Ok so I was unsure about this product due to how many people were commenting about the size but I absolutely love it and would buy again and again it’s so adorable and farmhouse themed and I love that and yes I’d say it is bigger than a regular size butter dish BUT only in width and honestly I personally like it bigger it gives room for the lid to be on without smushing the butter and or covering the side of the lid with the butter.

PURCHASED 08/13/2020. I have been using this for my butter for one month. Tonight when I cut a pat of butter I noticed this discoloration. I have hand washed this dish about once a week since I started using it. It sits on the counter with butter. The discoloration on the tray portion has tiny pinholes that go all the way through the glaze, that makes it unsafe for food. The oval shape discoloration on the cover portion does not penatrate the glaze. The window for return has passed, but you need to know that no matter how cute this dish is YOU CAN'T USE IT FOR FOOD ITEMS.

Great off white color with very light "brushstroke" edge touches of dark red. Back side does not have any lettering so you can turn it around and display it on a counter without the lettering if desired. The barn style handle is sturdy and detailed on both sides. Can hold a block of butter as easily as one or two sticks which is great for everyday or big brunches. Easy to clean. Came well packaged. Very happy with this purchase.
