New to tech industry? Start here, simplify your life and than me later!
I’m transitioning into tech from counseling and will be teaching myself many of these concepts covered in the book. I cannot express how smooth I feel the change will be now that I am better able to articulate the material covered in this book. I am more confident than ever in my ability to learn and excel as I grow in knowledge and that is due wholly to the care taken in putting this book together. The concepts are covered very thoroughly and broken into smaller more digestible chapters. There are no shortage of pictures, diagrams and summaries at the end of the chapter to help you better understand what you just read and the quotes and definitions are great to help the learner conceptualize the topics covered.Anyone learning tech could not choose a better starting point. Highly recommended!

Good beginner book
A good general overview for a beginning student of computer science. It covers major milestones/inventions in the development of our modern technology, and also goes over the main components of a computer in a clear and concise manner. It's comprehensive enough to get you up to speed on computer basics, but it doesn't delve much into the finer details as it is written for a layman audience, and that worked just fine for me since I'm barely starting out with the basics. My one and only complaint would be that the book is sometimes *too* concerned with making everything easy to understand - sometimes I'd be trying to read a sentence where the authors would stop midway to define a random word like "manufacture" or "accounting" and it would make me lose my train of thought. A small pet peeve, I guess, from someone who is used to noticing authors' stylistic choices. But this book achieves what it sets out to do, and I'm glad to have read it.

Easy to Understand
Kindle version. Each topic basically has its own chapter. It’s very easy to understand so it’s pleasant light reading. Very enjoyable. Anyone who doesn’t really know much about tech beyond just browsing the net for fun, your grandma or you or your neighbor or the neighbors dog…. This book is awesome! Thanks guys! ❤️

This is perfect training for anybody who wants to learn computers
I was never able to fully understand how computers work as all the other materials that I have studied on this only define the terms using words not understood. this book walks you up to full understanding by clearly defining each thing that you should know in order to understand how computers actually work. I have gained a much greater understanding and do not have the trouble that I used to have with electronics anymore.

The BOOK very technical
Very technical and wasn't what I was expecting. Just got it and will look through it to see if I'm not stupid. Looking for more like a dictionary with word terms that can identify where at on computer or how to go from one screen to the next from instructions given. The terminology of items. Like I said I'll look and see.

The average Joe's secret to technological success
This book is wonderful in that it breaks down some of the biggest questions I've had about technology in a way I or even my children could understand. I feel empowered to continue on in my pursuit of technological knowledge with this book as a firm foundation to build upon.

An excellent beginner computer resource
This book is more history of computers than dictionary of terms. It is very informative and simplifies information greatly so that even the most computer illiterate individual can comprehend it. The only reason this is not 5 stats is do to several typos and one major logical fallacy on nano computers. Would highly recommend

Five stars
Very beginner-friendlyI would be remiss if I did not mention that my allergy to tech in general was alleviated after I read this book from beginning to end.
