Best purchase I've made
UPDATE: After months of use, this has turned into my best purchase. For the dribbling, just make sure not to overfill and to close the lid securely. I've made it a habit to just shake the bottle a couple times after filling to get rid of the water trapped under/between the lid and bottle. It's great not having to taste tap water or dirty gym fountain water. Perfect for traveling. Things to be aware of: Open away from you on a plane because of pressure change. The water in the filter will get squeezed out regardless how full/empty the bottle is. Shake after filling, water can collect under/around the lid and drip on you. A drop of water also sometimes collects at the pressure valve next to the spout with filling/pressure changes (but never when closed). Aside from filling and not closing the lid tightly enough, it has never leaked on me in any bags. My biggest complaint is how small the bottle is. I'm constantly refilling, which get annoying, and longer hiking trips means it's not enough water. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's definitely on the small side, the filter housing is hard to pop open, and the date/indicator is a piece of loose useless plastic. That said, taste is decent and worked wonderfully while traveling and drinking tap water. The lanyard/loop has a bad design where you have to line it up just right with the grooves on the neck of the bottle for it to seat properly, and this means it does not spin freely. I just got rid of it. My biggest peeve with this bottle is, as someone else mentioned, water gets trapped under the lid between the lid and threads regardless of how securely the lid is on. This then drips all over you as you drink and I'm so over having wet dribble marks down my shirt every day. Otherwise, great bottle, really soft and easy to squeeze, and can save you some money if you're traveling or normally buy bottled water.

Close To Five Stars, But Hindered By the Loop
I was hoping to write a five-star review. That's what I was expecting to write when I first looked at the bottle. All the pieces seemed to be in place: -- Good size -- Water flows well through the filter. (You might be surprised, but some of the bottle makers can't even get that right, with a filtered bottle.) -- Not a bad looking bottle. It's got a nice, simple aesthetic. But there's a problem: As assembled, mine leaked. I installed the filter, put water in the bottle, screwed the top back on, took a sip ... and it leaked on my shirt. I searched Amazon Answers and found a solution: take the loop off. That worked, but I felt like I wasn't able to use the bottle as advertised, so I struggled with it a little bit more. Finally, it worked. Here's the issue: there are tabs on the bottom of the ring. If you don't line those up and screw the cap on very carefully, being sure that the tabs stay where they're supposed to go (there are gaps in the threads on the bottle that the tabs fit into) it's going to leak, and you're going to have a bad time. If not for the way the ring is designed, I could give this bottle five stars. It's easy to drink from (unlike a lot of other filtered bottles I've tried), it's got a pleasing aesthetic, and it's affordable. They just have to fix that ring.

They don’t handle being dropped very well
I had a similar Brita water bottle that I really liked, unfortunately, Brita quit selling it. So as an alternative, I tried the Phillips water bottle. I liked it because it had its own filter and I didn’t want to fill the landfills with any more plastic bottles. Unfortunately, I encountered a problem or twice water bottle fell out of my backpack or rolled off the golf cart onto a hard surface and the piece that holes the filter broke off from the top. Once that happens, the bottle is useless. At $15 a bottle I would think that they could handle a drop from your hand or backpack. That’s the only issue I’ve had with his water bottles. I have to say I still like them. I just don’t like the idea that they can’t handle a minor impact with a hard surface that ends up completely destroying the bottle filter system.

Lightweight and makes good tasting water
I bought this for an all day music festival where there would be free water stations. The water would be city water and I just wanted to filter out any possible chlorine or rust flavors. It worked great. The result doesn't taste as good as my Brita filter at home, but it's very acceptable. To me Brita is comparable to Fiji water, and this is comparable to Crystal Geyser or Poland Spring. I picked this over the Brita water bottle with filter because it's smaller and lighter, and the plastic is slightly flexible. Other reviews have mentioned that the air vent can make a noise when you let go of the bottle after a squeeze. This only happens if the vent is covered by water. Once the bottle is ~25% empty it won't be a problem. When it's very full, you can prevent the noise if you tip the bottle towards vertical before releasing. On the plus side, the air vent allows the bottle to be watertight while the spout is open. If it's tipped over, it doesn't spill. I have one quibble and that's with the cap, in my opinion it doesn't attach securely enough. I can see it sliding off accidentally and getting lost. I may drill a small hole so I can attach it to the thumb loop. For now I'm not using it. This bottle is going to be great for use at water fountains while running errands.

I bought this to bring on a cruise to filter the tap-water and it does a great job in removing the chlorine in the water. It's easy to fill and use but you have to ensure the top cap is pushed in properly, else some of the water will leak since the top cap is not screwed in.

Had to squeeze the bottle to drink, and it makes a squeaky/high-pitched sucking vacuum noise (not sure how best to describe it), but is definitely embarrassing to use it in the office. I ended up just removing the lid, which defeats the purpose of the filter. I wish I could return it but I suppose with the wet filter and for hygiene reasons, I didn't. Very disappointed.

I cannot get the filter in. The pieces will not come apart.
