I love this wheel. We got it for our Syrian hamster. It's quiet which is great in my son's bedroom at night. It's also very easy to clean. Hamsters like to poop in the wheel so easy to clean is very important to me. It's sturdy and stable. Great value and size. We have the large wooden cage with plexiglass.

This toy is a life saver, for endless fun. Easy to install either way you want to use it. The wheel is quiet. This is my sugar gliders favorite toy. Once attached to the cage it is sturdy, my sugar gliders climb all over this wheel.

This is such a good wheel and it was worth all the money spent. It is so quiet the only thing I can hear is my hamsters feet. It is quite sturdy and does not fall over, it is still a good idea to put some bedding on the back just to make sure it does not fall. The only bad thing is that it is hard to clean. If there is a seed in it is it very hard to get out. And if my hamster pees in it then you have to reach your hand in through the holes.

We are rehabbing two baby squirrels who have been with us since they were approximately 4 weeks old, eyes still shut, and are now 15 weeks old. I bought this wheel & another brand’s wheel to help entertain them, but also to allow them to get exercise. Although they are out with us at least twice a day and their cage is 4-stories, I worry they won’t have the strength and endurance a young squirrel raised with mom outdoors would have. We’re slowly working up to soft release so exercise is important. I started with the other brand’s wheel and attached to the cage since the stand was wobbly before a wild squirrel climbed on. You can see from the video that the girls run like they stole something, then collapse, just to start going 100mph again. Sometimes they both get in so a wobbly wheel isn’t going to work. Attaching wheel #1 to the cage was more wobbly and the plastic attachment clip broke within 2 minutes time. After consoling my startled little ladies who don’t prefer things crashing around in their safe place and cursing the other company, I put this wheel into the cage. They immediately went to check it out & spun it with their paws from the outside. Wheel #1 didn’t have the outer guard and I wasn’t sure if they would feel too claustrophobic in this one. I needn’t have worried because moments later, one climbed in, walked a bit, came out, and sister went in next. Within 30 mins they were happily running. This wheel was only $6 more than the first and the quality is infinitely better. Plastic is sturdy despite relatively heavy (they are nearly adult sized) squirrels running at top speed. It has also withstood the teething they do to everything that enters their cage. The guard keeps them from accidentally flying out on their jogs. I love this product; it’s well worth the money.

It’s so quiet all I hear is my hamsters feet on the pad. This is the loudest I’ve heard. The wheel itself makes no noise.

My hamster wouldn’t run on anything else until we got this. We (as well intentioned but uninformed hamster owners) originally had a small wire wheel that someone gave us. We realized very quickly it was wayyyy too small, then got a flying saucer, she never even tried using it and again, I think it was too small, and then finally got an 8.5 inch silent spinner and she looked at us like we were crazy and stupid for even trying to give it to her. It was terrible, noisy and really unstable and still TOO SMALL for a Syrian! Enter the silent runner. It’s 12 inches (perfect size for a Syrian), runs nicely without the normal creaking and loudness of a normal wheel, and fit onto her Prevue 528 cage just perfectly. It does occasionally “thump” like it’s hitting the bottom side of the cage when she starts running really fast but it’s not a huge deal and doesn’t seem to bother her. She took to this wheel immediately and sometimes at night I find her just sitting in it chilling because it’s semi enclosed and seems like a safe option. My main issue with it is that my hamster has taken to peeing on the wheel while she runs so it leaves the wheel quite stinky after a day or so. It’s pretty normal, however and I’ve taken to wiping off the wheel with a baby wipe every morning and will take it out to wash it when I do full cage cleans. She has also taken to randomly falling asleep on the wheel bc she ran for so long that she tired herself out! When I try to gently move her to her shelter she shambles in like a drunk old lady because she is so tired 😂 So I guess that’s a win! I am not a fan of the color though and hope they will look into making different ones other than the yellow and orange. But overall it was a wonderful purchase that has given my hamster something for her to do at night. The enclosed front makes her feel safe and stable while running and you can’t put a price on happiness. She seems like a much happier little girl now and I am so thankful I got this wheel!

i hear my hamster running on this every night. Easy to use for him im assuming. Very sturdy! and the weight is very light for him. The appearance goes well with his tank and good quality! It has the stand so you don’t need to stick it to a tank or anything.

If you own a Syrian this is the smallest size a hamster should have. They should never be curved on a wheel. Also even “silent spinners” are insanely loud. Don’t be cheap. I paid 44.99 CDN plus 7$ Shipping so about 50$ and I have not HEARD HIM SINCE. Truly silent & huge. Also if anyone in the reviews complains it’s too big for their cage it’s because they do NOT have the right sized enclosure. This wheel should fit with adequate room. If you cannot accommodate a wheel of this size you need to look into smaller animals like mice or robo hamsters. Again IF YOU OWN A SYRIAN. Buy it. Now. Before the price raises! You won’t be disappointed I promise. My boy already is happier and it’s been 2 weeks. And I sleep through the night with him right beside me in an area near my bed area. Although it’s designed for sugar gliders, the 12 inch Silent Runner is an ideal wheel for Syrian hamsters (and their owners, if they enjoy silence). I bought this wheel to replace my Kaytee Silent Spinner - because it was such a disappointment. The Silent Spinner is anything but, as its cheap construction results in a very wobbly wheel. This, in turn, causes the wheel to loudly and continually bang against either the cage to which it’s attached or its wire base assembly. In fact, this wheel spun so unevenly that my hamster had to stop running every few seconds in order to keep her balance. The only sound that I hear from my new 12 inch Silent Runner is the pitter-patter of hamster feet. This wheel has so little discernible wobble that my hamster can run in it nonstop. Moreover, the Silent Runner appears to be well-made. I was happy to see that it uses ball bearings (a rare find in rodent wheels). It also has a heavy and sturdy metal base that the wheel never bangs against while spinning. My hamster loves this wheel so much that she also hangs out and takes power naps in it. The 12 inch Silent Runner ended up costing me about $80 (CDN) after shipping and taxes. Paying $32 for shipping (from North Carolina) was a bitter pill to swallow, but this was the only way that I could buy a Silent Runner in Canada. Nonetheless, I don’t regret buying my Silent Runner, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to other hamster owners.

Really good wheel. The brand obviously put a lot of effort into making a quality wheel and it shows. It’s silent, same, and a suitable size for hamsters. Because the stand is a flag metal surface I’d recommend taping it down to a platform or something or weighing it down with stones if it’s sitting in the bedding because it tends to slide a little but it’s not a big problem and is easily fixed. 100% recommend best wheel on the market.

I was scared when I receive it because is a strong material in a poor package and ready to use. I tried setting it up or adjusting it in my way but I couldn't, which can be a good thing because the hamster is safe. The white ‘speed bump” I get concerned if my hamster can trip and get hurt I’ll keep my eyes, but he loves it and I get scared to take it away from him.

Was pricy and took some time to arrive but we're so very happy with the wheel so far.. all I can here is little hamster feet running along on it. It's very quiet and that is good because sometimes people sleep in the same room. Biggest thing is that our little buddy seems to love it and is getting lots of exercise. We're using it on the stand because the setup is a big bin instead of a wire cage but it did come with the pads to attach to a cage. Over all seems great and well worth it.
