Performs as Minelab should perform
Detector warehouse did awesome in solving the issues with my purchase. I was more on the part of amazon's fulfillment. Minilab is an awesome performing machine in the past so I know there 505 702 600 machines. All basically are setup up the same I bought for a friend with no instruction book may as well throw in the garbage for him. Other items missing also beside the instruction book

Success without Adjustments
I have only used it once for about 30 minutes and found 4 targets! All 4 were over 1 ft deep in beach sand. No treasures yet, but I'm just getting started!

I like it
Pretty easy to set up. Well built. I like it a lot. I used a bounty hunter quick draw 2 before this and I found more stuff where my bounty hunter missed.

Meh, it went back.
I guess I expected more than this delivered. The pinpointer is a joke. Not easy to make adjustments and it’s huge! The detector itself is ok, the colors don’t match on the housing, and not smooth from the mold process. Maybe it’s just me but I felt it was way overpriced for what you get.

Does anyone make a metal detector that does not have a warranty issue straight out of the box?!!!
I spent the extra money to buy this detector thinking it would be a better quality than the Nokta that had to be sent for warranty issue and took one month to get back, the second Notka was simply returned because it had problems right out of the box. Unfortunately, this Minelab also has problem straight out of the box, my options are to return it to Amazon and try my luck with ordering it again or waiting for the warranty paperwork to be approved and wait until it comes back from repair. I'm disgusted by the whole experience!!!

Its just ok.
I've owned and used minelab detectors for years, I have been using the Nox800 for awhile and figured i would get something my 2 oldest son's could use so I bought the vanquish 540 for my 16yo and I also bought the Simplex+ for my 11yo to use, im not impressed with the vanquish 540 after having ran both of them a good 200 hours each the Simplex+ is just a far superior machine, I couldn't believe it especially myself being a hardcore Minelab user for years, for instance we went to a local park and I had my ML nox800 and was picking up a vdi 29/30 at 7" deep so I had my son bring over the vanquish and it wouldn't even pick it up turned wide open nothing but a little scratch every now and then, but when I ran over it with the Simplex+ it would blow your ears off at a vdi of 90/91 it just turned out to be a clad quarter, the vanquish finally picked it up after we got it out of the hole and placed it on top of the ground, wish I could have just returned it and got another Simplex+ but it is what it is, my son has been using my old Whites coinmaster he says it will pick up coins the minelab vanquish 540 passes over, whats bad is I believe I only paid $199.00 for that Whites about ten years ago.

This detector is awesome
This detector picks up items deep. Easy to understand where you can be detecting soon after you put it togethet which is a breeze.

Bought for my older son and Grandson to use and is very good. Bought it because I did not want to buy a detector then buy another when they get use to it.

I would thoroughly recommend this kit. It's very rare to go out on a permission and not find anything with the Vanquish 540..It's easy to use. It's alot of detector for the money. There are lots of information videos on the net on how to use it. . My hand held pin pointer wasn't working properly. Crawfords changed it for me next day delivery.. I'm very happy with my perchase.

All over the place signal-wise. Vague and randomly giving false and constantly changing signals and chatter making it really tedious to use - performs like one of those 20 quid toy detectors you used to get from Maplins. The pinpointer that comes with it was junk - sometimes it switches on , sometimes it bleeps like you switched it on but it can't even pinpoint my metal shovel!

Great bit of kit but flimsy.
