Literally perfect
It’s rare for me to find an item that actually covers everything I desire for it. I started with just wanting a flip back 3 ring binder. After trying the pivotal and expandable ones, I was not impressed. I figured I would have to settle on a basic Avery one until I came across this.Price - it was definitely a lot more than I intended to spend but I’m more than willing when it actually has everything I want. This is a bit pricey, but very well worth it!Quality - perfect. Very durable, lightweight but strong. 3 ring prongs work well and no strings or loose materialOverall, if this type of binder is something you’re looking for, this is a great buy! I absolutely love how the 3 ring part is detachable too

PERFECTION!!
This binder is a rare PERFECT product!! Wife and I are team truck drivers, and have been searching for a binder to keep our permits in. Something that zips closed, has a handle, looks professional and lays flat. This binder holds all our important permits, and fits perfectly in the door pocket. It looks classy, is durable, and the zip closure feature keeps our paperwork safe from the elements when we have to carry it inside a weigh station. And the handle is just icing on the cake, it makes it super easy to pull it out from the door pocket. Every trucker should have one of these. And if it will work for a trucker, it will work for ANYONE. Highly recommend!!

Very, Very Nice Product. Buy it!
This is the one you want. Very, very nice product. Case-It makes a lot of colorful fabric-covered 3" thick 3-ring binders for children. This here is very professional and gets looks. I promise someone will call you a "business man" if you have one of these. The Case-It Pad-50 is the same with no handle. I thought the handle would be bulky or get in the way bu tit hasn't. I'm glad I have it to make carrying it easy when I have my hands full, which is pretty often. The Pad-30 is nice too, but the 3-ring binder isn't removeable on that one. Before buying the Pad-40 I had the Mead City zipper binder. You can see my review for that one. Don't get it. The Case-It line is much better. In fact, this Case-It Pad-40 is IMO better than the $70 real leather ones at Staples. If I lost it I'd buy another.PROS: The textured material on the outside is very nice. The retractable handle is made of the same material and doesn't feel like it will have any issues. Unlike the fabric on the outside of the Mead City Binder, if this vinyl-ish material gets grease or anything on it, you can wipe it right off. The interior is a fabric of decent quality. On the left, upon opening the binder with the quality zipper, you have a gusset-pocket that could hold a tablet of paper. You also have another pocket for a few more papers--important documents, perhaps, because they stick out a few inches and you'll see that they're there. The lack of a calulator is not an issue. It gives you an extra elastic pocket. I use it for my receipt book but USB flash drives or a small calculator might be what it's intended for. TWO writing utensil pockets, not one. Credit card/business card slots are nice (5). There's an ID pocket too. The 3-ring binder stays in on mine, but it's removeable. I added pocketed tabbed folders. The tabs stick out a bit too much and get caught in the zipper. I use the tabs to flip pages but don't put the little papers in them anyway, so I trimmed the tabs about 1/3" as to not interfere with the zipper. Tablet holder has a nice leather-looking flap covering the top binding of the paper pad.CONS: The outside of this has no pocket, but once you see the type of material used and the padding, you'll see why (would be handy for when you don't want to unzip it, but you can't have both...there's plenty of storage inside). No calculator but this, IMO, is a PRO, because you get more storage space; and who doesn't have a calculator on their phone?UPDATE: 1.5 years later. Thing has been sitting in a hot or cold car and still looks like it was bought yesterday. I truthfully only use the thing once a week, but it's handled from 0 to 100 degree temperatures!

Love it
It's a fantastic product. Top notch quality. I'm 35 and I'm studying again after 12 years of college so I kinda didn't want to go arround with a backpack in a suit so I needed something to fit all the basic stuff I use. This is exactly it. It even fits a chunky book. The only thing I dislike is the tiny pockets that are on top of the calculator pocket because you can't actually put anything in there.. they are too small and after putting the calculator in, it puts pressure over the tiny pockets so they are kinda useless. I would prefer just one big proper pocket to put small stuff. Also the paper blog I didn't find very useful. It just added extra cost for international shipping because of the weight.

Not leather but texture makes it look better than plain vinyl
I was drooling over leather padfolios but the price just didn't work for me. The plain vinyl or pvc ones are just icky too. This one, while vinyl, does have a nice texture that makes it look more expensive than it is.My other thoughts: I like that it zippers around smoothly and securely: I do volunteer work with foster kids and need something to keep confidential papers safe. It has a pad of paper (not that much so a new pad will be needed). It has a removable three ring binder (without paper) that slides into the back of the flat pad. It's a good fit but I am leaving it out for now. There are two wide pockets big enough for an entire file folder, which was a nice surprise. Double pen holders, business card slots, and a place for my own business cards (most have these features). The extra kicker for me is the handle that slips into the case when not in use (NICE) and that it holds the file folders (also a treat). The only thing that knocked off a star is that it is pretty heavy, even when totally empty. Also, a small place for a USB drive or some sort of larger object like that would have been helpful.
