The instructions say to use the 7.0mm bit, or 5/16th bit. These are not the same dimensions. 7.0mm is actually 9/32, just a shy bit smaller than 5/16, so if you use a 5/16 bit the piece will actually slide out or the hole on the downward angle. If you use the included 7.0mm bit, it fits nice and snug, but it is too short to penetrate all the way through the wood at the required 30 degree angleSee the photo of the 2 5/16 bits on the left and their 7.0mm bit on the right, it's narrower and shorter. So you're forced to buy a longer 9/32 bit which is an uncommon size, or have to drill both sides and do the extra work to make sure your holes line up. Wish they would just ship a longer bit or make the piece in a common size like 5/16

As headline says, it makes the railing cables (and the whole thing) much nice looking.Because of the tight fitting (a good thing to have), it takes some extra effort to get the cables passing through the sleeve grommets.Tips: Wrap the end with a scotch tape when inserting and passing the grommet. Give some extra length when cutting the cable before installing. May need to cut off an inch after passing every few ones.

They worked like a charm. As long as you do your part and drill the holes appropriately, you'll have zero issues. Make sure to clean out your holes and tap the eyelets in with a mallet. Good as gold.

Work fine but aren’t the same shine as the normal grommets we purchased. We had to order from different suppliers
