Sit back, pour a cold drink and be transported back to 1976
As the sleeve notes helpfully point out, if you were around in the summer of ’76 this probably wasn’t your soundtrack. More likely you’d have been listening to Elton John and Kiki Dee, Bowie, or even the Wurzels. What this compilation seeks to do is put together a series of tracks that evoke the feel of a summer that has gone down in British legend. You’ll be familiar with a few of the tracks here, but there will almost certainly be some surprises even for people who think they know ’70s music. There are some real hidden gems on this disc, the Cliff Richard track in particular is gorgeous – and that’s not a phrase I thought I’d ever write! The perfect accompaniment to something in a tall glass with plenty of ice. Sit back, relax and let the music transport you back to an earlier time – with no need to dust off your flares.

melancholic trip
Excellent and most nostalgic romp ,lovely infact.Lots of obscure soft obscura here on display Batteaux and Cliff Richard are the surprise highlights...leaving cliche 10cc and Steve Miller in the dark.Nice indeed...feel sad...
