Perfect frijoles del olla
I looked up and followed curing instructions for this "bean pot." Once accomplished, I immediately set to work making a pot of frijoles as per my mom's recipe from my youth, growing up in East Los Angeles. Oh, my! What a treat as the kitchen filled with the savory aroma (using a ham hock, of course) and the beans turned out just perfect enough to take me back to my childhood days! Most Mexicans can tell the difference between beans cooked in a metal pot and those cooked in a true olla! These did not disappoint and the look of this olla takes me away to my olden days! Durable, beautiful and perfect!

Easily breaks!
I bought this item for a present for my mother on Christmas. The first time I bought it. It was broken from the side. There was a small crack no biggie. I just decided to get a new one. Once I received the other one it completely destroyed in half. I am beyond pissed. How do you not put a fragile sticker on your package. This was completely unexceptable. The item was not thick at all, and definitely not sturdy. Please do not buy!

It's the best bean cooking tool we have.
Bout the only thing I which was different is the cover handle. The cover has a very small and hard to grip handle along with steam exhaust holes around it, this makes it challenging when checking on whatever is cooking.

Attractive bean pot
Wanted a pot I could cook my beans in but leave on my stove top when not in use and still look good. This fits both requirements. Makes delicious beans also.
