Excellent scope mount with one little gripe
Bought this to put a scope on my 1978 Winchester 94, which it does perfectly. It seems to be as sturdy as a side mount can be, given that this rifle was never designed to be scoped. My one and only gripe is that Weaver still uses the ring design with screws on only one side. This means that the scope will move a little to the right or left every time you tighten the rings. It will take you about a dozen tries to figure just how crooked you need to set the scope in the rings so it will be straight when you tighten them down. Come on Weaver, give us a little help here!

Great mount
I originally purchased the High long version of this mount but it didn't allow for any adjustment for eye relief on 3-9x40 scope I had purchased for my Winchester 94 with Weaver side mount assembly. This one was perfect. Mounted the scope well, with just enough clearance, and gives a good amount of adjustment for eye relief. You can move the scope back and forth quit a bit. I was originally trying to put a 4-16x50mm scope on it but none of the mounts available would fit. I know it's a bit over kill on a 200yd rifle but this blind old man wants every advantage he can get. :-)

An absolute Classic!
Weaver has been making these for years. These are simple and they work great for applications that require an offset scope. I am using this on a 1971 model 1894 Winchester. I also have a Remington model 81 that this type of detachable scope eing would work on as well. This detachable ide mount scope ring can be used with a number of Weaver side mount bases. I will be attaching this to a Weaver #3B but may also use it on a Weaver #7. The extra low profile scope clamps, can be a little difficult to get the scope reticle directly verticle, when setting up the scope the first time, but are worth the effort for the access clearance to the receiver.

Total junk DO NOT BUY
I bought these scope rings and the mating baseplate for my winchester 94 which they are supposedly designed for. The dove tail is disgustingly out of tolerance. Took a file and sandpaper to it for hours but it barely made a difference. Will need to take a powered dremel to it.For the love of God Weaver please hire a quality control department. There is very little that an inspector would need to check to verify fit and function and you managed to screw that little bit up. Will never buy your garbage again.
