Attaching a video I made in only minutes at the park. This thing has so much potential. The ease of use and the app DJI provides really allow for some amazing video tricks! The quality of video will depend on the phone you use, but I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro Max which has amazing cameras. Tips: the magnet is a great idea but I do not feel comfy with permanently putting it on my glass phone. I purchased a case separate from what I have usually and put the magnet on that. Now , that case is my “Gimble Case” and I made sure to place the magnet in the center. I simply take my case off, and put my “Gimble case on” and I’m good to go! The spin feature adds some great cinematic shots and the motion time lapse is so much fun especially with clouds! The included tripod is such a nice touch, and definitely needed for the shots you’re going to want to take. DJI could have charged this separately so, it’s nice they include it in the box. I also purchased a monopod for this and the active track feature is definitely some future tech we get to have right now! No camera man needed, simply hold up two fingers ( make sure gesture controls are enabled ) and it’ll start recording and following you! I love this thing, and I love the price point. No balancing needed but just in case DJI builds in auto balancing and manually adjustment into the app. I suggest this to anyone who wants to get to some great shots for YouTube or their family videos!

I researched the DJI OM 4 extensively before purchasing it. The quality has gotten better with each generation. This last generation features a magnetic clip on/off mount for your cell phone. It's very intuitive and you can use it with or without the DJI app. With the DJI app you'll have a bunch of pretty cool features and effects. With just your phone's native video/photo app you of course still use the gimbal's stabilization features. The included tripod is very handy (get it?) and the threads at the bottom of the gimbal are the same as most other industry standard mounts and extension poles, making it very useful on different kinds of stands/tripods. The OM 4 folds up very compact. Some reviewers have said that it's "pocket sized". Well, it sort of is "pocket" sized if you have a larger than average pocket. You're not going to cram this into a pair of jeans, but you probably could easily fit this in a coat or jacket pocket. The battery life on this gimbal is very good. After using it off and on throughout the day, leaving it stored without recharging and then using it again a few days later, it still held about half the charge. I would say that's pretty good usage, without recharging, for most people using it over a weekend or short trip. Like most USB connected devices, this gimbal is very easy to recharge. Lastly, software updates to the gimbal are periodically pushed out from DJI via the app. It's all pretty intuitive and seamless. I don't usually write long reviews but this product is definitely a "recommend".

I cut this over the newer 5 OSMO primarily for the extra battery life and true and true design. I used it at Disney world for consecutive 12+ hour days and NEVER got below 50% charge (even using it once to add as little more juice to my cell phone) Sorry simple to use, calibrated amazingly, dirt stay shots... The 3x3 panoramic is perfect for larger shots with or without people. The tracking is amazing. I love that I can put it is stand by mode. Only drawback is having to install the app from outside the official app stores, but that only took a couple extra seconds. This thing is awesome. Really light. I had decided if prior ask me what it was, how it works, and we're amazed at how much you get for a low price. And the ability just to use the great camera on my phone and quickly be able to use my phone as a phone thanks to the super strong magnet is so convenient.

Overall, smaller than the Osmo Mobile 3, 2, and 1. I'm upgrading from the Osmo Mobile 2. Off the bat the grip is more sensitive. The buttons are all still there, but the functions are assigned quite differently. Standby mode (introduced in Mobile 3) is a cool improvement. Gesture control is very neat. I looked like a Japanese schoolgirl while doing it, but it was effective and started tracking my face a second or two after I did the gesture, turning on a three-second delay to start recording. The Mimo app is definitely an improvement over "DJI GO 4". Mimo connects directly with the Photos app in iPhone, so you don't have to go through an app to access your photos/videos. There's two things stopping me from giving this five stars though: 1. The magnetic clamp ironically, is the biggest downgrade of the new model. The ability to add heavier phones to the gimbal comes with a cost - it is noticeably less secure than the previous models. If you have a case, your phone will fall off the magnetically attached clamp (the one you attach to the gimbal) with any willful thrust or whip. This is why DJI offers magnets you can attach to your naked, un-cased phone. I haven't used them yet, but I'm sure that's why they offer both options. I also had some issues when panning an active target. The active target tracking requires excellent light and not too rapid movement from the subject and operator. As with the previous models, it will get lost easily in poor lighting.

I purchased this gimbal in March 2021 because I really wanted to see if I could use this for astrophotography on my iPhone. I tried it, it caught some light trails on the stars, but I'm sure that's something I can fix myself. The gimbal is very easy to use, one thing that I wish could change was to auto-pair instead of opening the Mimo app and then using another camera app, but again, that's just a preference. I don't use the ring that goes on the back of the phone as I like to keep my phone in a case at all times. With this, I prefer to use the clamp. If you have an iPhone 12 Pro Max (like I do) WITH a thick case like the Presidio Grip, the clamp will NOT hold the phone properly and it will fall off. I chose to buy the thinner case PresidioPro 2. Even with this thinner case, it won't clamp on properly because it adds to the phones thickness. ADVICE! Remove the rubber pieces on the sides of the clamp in order to allow for a better grip. It does seem to have rough edges, but I haven't seen any damages to my case or phone. I personal purchased an extra clamp in case I end up having to use my phone without a case.

Pros: This DJI product worked very well for us during our cruise. We used it extensively and were happy with the results. BT worked well and connection was never interrupted. BT on Andriod is good. You can zoom, pan, video and/or take photos. IPhone has more functionality. Battery life is good. I charged it and got 6 hours of use before I had to recharge it and holds charges very well. Cons: Android phones will not have the full functionality i.e. switching between camera photo functions (panoramic, slo-motion). These functions must be switched manually. DJI app could be downloaded. Customer service was useless in fixing app issue. Overall was impressed and would recommend it to anyone.

Best iteration of the Osmo Gimble yet. I have owned and used the original DJI Osmo Mobile which had sturdy metal construction. But that model had its issues, particularly it required gimble balancing before use, it could not handle larger phones without counterbalance weights, battery life not long, and expensive! So I recently bought one of these OM4 and the price for the quality of product is outstanding. DJI simplified the design of the gimble arm and the convenience of the magnetic mount without requiring phone balancing (stronger motor) makes this the best gimble yet. It works great with my XS Max iPhone and hopefully should support the heavier 12 Pro Max. At $150, DJI OM 4 is priced well given it includes a tripod attachment, 2 mounting options, and a storage bag. There’s no need to buy additional batteries because the built in battery lasts long enough.
