The red shrink wrap is very thin. The isolator is designed to bolt onto the firewall. The lugs with the shrink wrap rest against the firewall. After a long trip in my truck, the vibrations from the road wore the shrink wrap and the paint off of the firewall. The positive cable grounded on the bare metal and caused a fire.

Works just fine on my boat. The kit made it easy to install and after testing works just like its supposed to.

Set this up in my Van to give me extra charge on those snowy overcast days in the northwest

Kit included everything I needed, but if you’re doing this with a larger battery (like an International) you’ll have to purchase a larger gauge terminal. Instructions were easy to follow.
