Yes it is, but I would suggest a softer yarn for preemies and baby hats.

the answer to your question depends on the following: are you knitting are crocheting an Afghan.. knitting takes less yarn.... which stitch are you planning on using or are you using a pattern? patterns will list the amount of yarn in YARDS needed to complete your project. .. how to figure out the Number of skeins you will need requires a little simple math.. example would be i have a pattern for a pocket scarf and to make it the pattern states i will need approx 510 yards of medium worsted weight yarn. the yarn i want has 275 yards per skein. how many skeins will i need to buy to make my scarf? i would need buy 2 skeins.. .. i hope this helps

Q: Is aran the same as cream?

They used to have a color called eggshell,red heart yarn,think it is 4 ply

No it is not. Super saver is worsted. Aran is Aran. Worsted and Aran are two different yarn weights. Suggest you go to Redheart web sight and see if they still stock what you want. Have you tried Wal-Mart website?
