I created my own problem
The item seems very well made, robust, solid. Only problem is due to my laziness. I have a cutter that broke, and I’m in Europe so when folk mentioned the mounting hole not being right for poles in the US, instead of actually measuring my pole with calipers, I assumed “well then it’s metric and I’m sure my pole is the normal metric size”. You see where this is going… yup. The mount hole is ever so slightly smaller than the pole. The pole is metal and thin walled, so I am going to lightly sand it, and then try and use a dremel to slightly enlarge the mounting hole. This kind of thing OUGHT to be standardized but oh well, still was my fault for assuming, not the manufacturer as they do mention the size and it is correct when I measured. They ought to include it in the “product specifications” area, instead of a separate area here maybe, but they did mention it so it’s on me.

Does the job
Love the price. It does the job. Takes some straining and maneuvering to pull the cord. But 4 stars is mainly because its not threaded to firmly secure to a threaded pole. I made do with rubber washers to help it stay in place on one of my poles. Kinda lop sided but the job does not require any action that separates the tool from the pole "so far"

Well Made.
This is a well made product. It is made of steel, compared to the aluminum The serious issue I have with this product, is that the mounting hole is metric, and it won't fit on a 1" pole, as a direct replacement. I needed to sand the pole and bang the cutter head on, with a plastic hammer, after lubricating it with soap.

How to make a 24 foot tree pruner that doesn't cost an arm and leg
The 4 pulley wheels make this pruner head easy to operate and use. Sharp blade cuts right through 1 to 1 and a half inch Leyland tree limbs. I have a 24 foot telescoping painter's pole Alumiglass that I took the screw head off and put the pruner head on. With the pruner head on the pole I drilled a hole through the pole and ran a screw through the pruner head and pole and secured with a nut. I could finally reach up high and the get the branches that were out of reach with my standard telescoping 17 foot pruner pole. I had to add some more cord to the pruner head, tied about ten feet of extra cord to the handle so I could extend the painter pole fully and have enough rope to pull on to cut the limbs. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get higher cuts than standard pruner poles provide.

very , very flimsy blade
I bought this while looking for a replacement blade for our 20-year-old pole saw. The only blade that would fit it was expensive, so I decided to buy a new head. What a mistake! The saw blade on this is extremely thin and flexible. If you hold the blade at the ends horizontally, you can flex in into a U-shape with almost no effort. It's thinner than of one of those cheap plastic handled 2 for $1.00 vegetable paring knives. It's sharp, but it's so thin that it gets stuck in the branch and flexes so easily that it's very difficult to remove it to reposition. The anvil cutter doesn't cut even 1/4 inch branches. I was so disgusted with this saw, that I stopped using it after struggling for about 1/2 hour and left it on the front porch. Despite being in a covered area, out of the rain, when I went out a week later to detach the head to return it, I found that the anvil cutter had rusted from the moisture in the air alone. Fortunately, I am able to return it. I recommend NOT buying this.

You’d be amazed at what it can cut!
This thing is sharp and the multiple pulleys magnify your force to make it very easy. Whatever you can hook it on you can cut! I mounted it to a 20’ extendapole and was able to clear the overgrowth that was dropping leaves all over my walkway, might add another 5’ so I can do the front trees. Amazingly light for what it does, the cutter works so well I haven’t had to use the saw.

Worked as described
The pruning worked great. I had to add a little more rope as my pole was longer then what they provided in rope. I wish it had an option for ordering the inside of the black handle to be threaded to be ready to attach to most pole. However I was able to make it work by adding a wooden poll with a threaded end to attach to my pole. Over all great package for pruning trees!
